What is it like to wear lifts everyday?
« on: April 11, 2016, 04:55:18 AM »

Dear LL Community,

I'm a 5'6 male potentially landing a relationship in the future with a female 2-3 inches taller than myself. Personally, I'd rather not go through the awkward phase of dancing with her in heels and having her tower over me. Also, I plan to join the coast guard in a year so I've obviously already ruled out LL since I want a military career.

I want to know what it's like to wear lifts everyday since after doing some research, I've read it can potentially screw up the arch in your feet. However, I myself am flat-footed so, it might actually potential be beneficial for me since I barely have an arch in my foot. Ultimately, if I decide to use a 1 inch shoe lift everyday I'd like to know the following:

1) will it look normal
2) will it have implications on my feet later on in life?

Note again, I'm flat footed so I'm not sure if that will have any benefits/negatives to shoe lifts

1) They will only look normal in shoes with a tall enough back. With low profile shoes, the bottom of your heel will be near the top of the shoe, which will be easy to see and your heel may slip out often while walking.

2) Yes, same effects, but less risk given it isn't as much, as women who wear high heels: injured leg muscles, osteoarthritis of the knee, plantar fasciitis and low back pain.

The only issue I've noticed so far is my feet kinda hurt if I'm walking around or standing for significant periods of time.

Can you elaborate on the implications on #2? What type of issues should I foresee possibly occurring?
