need help from a previous limb lengthener..
« on: June 27, 2015, 07:24:51 PM »

im kinda concerned about my knee extension on my right leg.. i can completely lock my left leg straight when standing but my right leg i still cant.. when i have my legs straight out in front me on a hard surface my left leg can sit flat but my right leg is bent.. i can only get my right leg flat when i stretch and i hang weights off it.. Can someone that has experienced knee extension problems please inform me if it is a problem i should be worried about.. or if its just a matter of time when it will be back to normal.. thanks

You have knee bending. With time and walking a lot, your problem go out. Perhaps you can buy special footwear to do better the walk movement, like MBT shoes. I finished my leg left lenthening 4 months and 10 days, and now i'm starting to walk with the leg completely
straight. I lenthening 6 cm, only in one leg.

im using crutches now which is forcing me to stand up straighter when walking.. im stretching 4 or 5 times a day for about 10 minutes each time hanging weights to stretch my leg straight.. and obviously im pulling my foot back with a strap for my equines. so based on ur information it will be fixed within the next couple of months?

My surgery was 4 months and 10 days ago , and i finised my lengthening 1 months and half ago, more or less. I think with time it will be better. But you can go to phisiotherapy. The most important is walk a lot.

It's nothing to worry about and will go away with just walking.  You don't even need to go to expensive PT to get rid of the problem.  I had pretty bad knee bending issues with my LL and came out of it fine.  You've got the advantage over people with Achilles issues in that you can walk easier than they can.  I don't know why some people's problems are in the knees while others' are in the Achilles.  Probably something to do with your natural anatomy.

never had any knee issues, but def had ankle issues

not sure why youre having knee issues with tibia, but try to sort it out now

ankle equinus can be a huge hassle, so try to avoid bad equinus
