Do I have to shave my legs for the surgery?
or even better to do a brazilian waxxing, to not get infection because of ingrown hairs?

Yes, you have to shave for the surgery.  Waxing your legs instead to prevent ingrown hairs is a good idea too.

I did not shave my legs before surgery. I just trimmed the hair as short as possible with a trimmer.

That works too.  They don't have to be silky smooth, just not all bushy.  I think they're worried about germs having more surface area to live on if your legs are all hairy.
