Hip swaying?

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced their hips swaying after LL with femurs. My endurance for walking is approaching acceptability at this point, but when I walk my hip on one side kind of bobs up resulting in a non natural stride and appearance.

If I had to guess its presumably tied to tightness, but I am trying to figure out exactly how to best resolve it.

Have you made any progress with this? I currently have the same problem. Was gonna make another thread, but saw you already asked the same question. Dr. G said my walking should begin to improve faster after both my bones are fused (right leg is, left one very close to it).

I'm wondering if maybe strengthening the abductors would help?

6.5cm is the most you should do not shocking if you get it tbh.

I think you'll be fine bud. I still have a bit of a weird walk but it improves exponentially as both my strength and looseness improves. There are moments where my walking is totally normal, and the only time there is weird walking is when I am really tight or fatigued.

Work hip flexor looseness, start weight training as much as you can safely, and I think you will do fine.

Thanks bro! My hip swaying is honestly the only thing pissing me off right now, even though I know full recovery will take a while longer at this point (I don't care if running takes a while). I just want to be able to walk down the street without feeling embarrassed lol. I had a girl over last weekend and I tried to walk very little in front of her, luckily we were horizontal pretty fast.

I asked Dr. G about doing weight training for abductors (the machine where you sit, and then press your legs out). He said not now, but soon (once my left leg has fused, I can do whatever he said). Want to get on with my recovery fast, especially since I'm thinking of doing one more inch next year.

Oh yea, definitely listen to your surgeon on the matter. But working out has made me go from feeling like an embarrassment in public to having strong strides, and being able to jog(albeit a  ily for now, but remember I was where you were not long ago at all).

Nice man, that's really encouraging to hear. I honestly feel like weight training for my abductors will be the key. My right leg is fused, and I notice that my hips sway a bit less on that side. And I definitely notice that my right leg (the fused one) feels stronger. Very cool indeed. I definitely miss the gym. The girl I was with said I had a nice upper body, so I guess I've mostly maintained it, but I'd like to drop some body fat % pronto.

Do hip abduction exercises they train the hip flexors which have weakened your hips sway when you build up way to much muscle and strength in them do your lower back exercises lay down and put your hands out and your legs out like your superman the exercise is actually commonly called the superman.   That way you train the hips and the lower back.  You probably will have it go away.

Thanks pal. So once Dr. G clears me, you would recommend I do the machine at the gym where you sit and then push out with your abductors? I think that's where I'm lacking at the moment.

I actually read up about the superman exercise you mentioned, some say it actually does more harm than good. So not sure if I'll try that one. I do have some other stretches I can do for my hip flexors.

Paley's staff was advocating the super man. Mike in particular who made me attempt it(which I hated), but I trust him when he says its a good exercise as he was extremely knowledgeable.

Does anyone know if hip swaying is also related to glute weakness? I feel like it is because I noticed that my hips also sway when I walk upstairs. I'm wondering if strengthening my glutes will help to alleviate this annoying and embarrassing hip swaying. I'm willing to do whatever it takes, I just need this hip swaying gone.

it depends on what someone classifies as the super man exercise as there is one which is not at all like I am talking about.
