Wanted to know what is the ideal ratio for that. Also the ratio between your upper and lower body. My son's wingspan is 167.5, height is 163.5. He is not going to grow anymore.

His wingspan is completely normal, and there is nothing to worry about.

There is no ideal wingspan but I suppose it shouldn´t deviate too much from his height, within 10CM either way is normal.

that is good wingspan, means he could do 2 LL ops. i only have + 2.5cm wingspan so can only do 1LL surgery.

u can have a wingspan shorter than your height by 10cm before it starts looking odd. there is people that naturally have shorter wingspans by up to 10cm and they dont look odd.. probably what is more noticeable is if ur legs are too long compared to your upper body.. so if his legs are already longer than his torso he might look a bit odd after limb lengthening.. best way to check whether he is long legged or short legged is described in the link below.



if you find he has short legs he will look completely normal afterwards along with the winsgpan he has..

what you say is statistically correct i guess, but in practice it just looks too odd unless you are bulky and end up tall it might be okay, since tall people often do look a bit dispropotionate.

my mockup picture here is 10cm taller than wingspan yet it looks pretty bad.

I was 166, and my wingspan is 172.5/173...so matches my post LL height perfectly. I think most guys' wingspan is usually larger than their vertical height, but OP's son shouldn't have an issue doing at least one LL.

I think it's usually about 3cm more, if you have 10 more wingspan you're lucky, at least for LL that is, othewise it wouldn't matter as its a bit of a random stat.

Thanks guys. I am planning for 1 surgery for now. My goal is 6cm. I don't know if I am pushing it. Also, do you measure the wingspan to the wrists, of to the fingers. Logically should be fingers.

Mircroman i honestly think some gym time would make you look fine dude. When proportions star to get a bit off I feel like building shoulders and slimming waists and hips is the way to go.

thanks but i'm not becoming a gym person to make a 10cm wingspan difference look normal if i do 2xLL, most likely i would just accept being 5 7 after the first op.

there is also the issue that external femurs is very hard to do and internal is far too expensive.

but yeah people with wider torsors look better with is, there is not any way to wider my torso properly though, as in my bone structure, id have to super workout before that would happen.

the picture to the right is how i would look proportion wise.

The one on the left looks better and much more natural imo. I have never seen anyone with a head of this size sitting on shoulders so narrow.

but it's quite debatable, i mean how bad does it really look? and how much better would it be to be taller!

I feel the same after looking at the picture on the right. But thats just me, honestly normal people rarely notice such things and I'd rather be normal or average height than have normal proportions. At my height 163cm last i check thats what matters to me, regardless one of my best friends is 5'9 almost 10' and the other day i noticed he is literally only an inch taller than me when we both sit down. Bodies vary man.

Lol yeah, but if you did 2x LL to his height with your wingspan you will likely look bad im guessing.

we all know sitting height means nothing, its all about the wingspan, which is the subject, given the threat title.

I personally think SH counts for more because I've always thought I had a short torso. Luckily my wingspan is 171cm  so I don't think I'd look 'Hills have Eyes' deformed were I to do 2Xs LL the SH was just an example of commonly extreme variations in proportions

Short arms look weird. But being short is even weirder so that tradeoff is worth it.
