External frame bulky vs small
« on: March 03, 2015, 11:50:27 PM »

Is there any advantage to having the bulkier Ilizarov External frames as compared to the smaller Salameh Fix or frames used by some of the Russian Docs?

For those doing around 5 cm and wanting to avoid potential knee pain from nailing a smaller frame would make the experience a little easier and I wonder why
these smaller frames are not standard?

The standard circular Ilizarov frames are probably more stable. More stability would help you consolidate faster from what I've been told.
