One leg shorter than the other, anyone have this?
« on: February 02, 2015, 02:16:23 PM »

I have been wearing orthotics for years (it's funny because some people think they are lifts). Anyway, besides correcting the messed up way I walk, one orthotic has a lift because one of my legs is shorter than the other. They also make it hard to wear lifts (weird having two things in a shoe)

Does anyone else have a limb length discrepancy? I wonder if insurance would cover surgery for this. In my case, the difference is not so great though (about .5 CM).

just out of curiosity how tall are you when standing on your longer leg?
I read Hanna84 diary in old forum and she also had a small leg discrepancy which she had corrected.  She mentions some insurance issues she had in Germany.  I assume insurance coverage will vary by country of residence and the amount of discrepancy between your limbs.

Morning height on two legs is 5' 9.8". standing on longer leg is 5' 10.1". Nighttime height two legs is 5' 9.2". I don't have a perfect measurement for the limb length discrepancy, but it's about .5CM

My left leg is about one CM shorter than my right, dad has an even larger difference I think. My doctor said it's normal and not a problem unless it's more than 3CM.
