From what I've read so far there is no difference in recovery time between an Ilizarov frame and monorails, but the monos are apparently worse at preventing equinus contracture and you might take longer recovering just to correct it once it appears.

Paley says LON/LATN takes 1/3 the amount of time as externals.

The internal devices all probably take around the same time for recovery as LON I'd imagine, they're just more comfortable and convenient I think.

I would also like to know what the average time frame for external tibias is. By most account it seems like it's 1.5 months per centimeter lengthened, but then you have cases of enormous fixation times like Kilo with Parihar.  ???
