Femur LON Knee Pain?
« on: January 08, 2015, 11:29:50 AM »

Hello!

If I understand correctly, many people avoid LON because it often leads to permanent knee pain. However, I have read that LON on the femurs does not have this problem, or does it? Is there any other complications associated with LON on the femurs?

Thanks!

lon on tibia has a 47.5% chance for permanent knee pain.

lon for femur has a 17% chance for permanent hip pain.

I can not say what severity the permanent pain is, however I speculate that the hip pain is mild yet permanent compared to the knee pain which seems to be more debilitating more of the time (when it is permanent).

the study encompassed almost 2000 patients. I will try to find it again.

as an example of what im trying to say. medium drink of water appears to have permanent knee pain, however it is mild pain and not debilitating in any way. (correct me if im wrong MDOW)

That risk is the only reason why I'm going to do external. I don't want to have permanent pain.

same here. I to am doing externals only.

my question is this.

the doctor when using monorails moves aside the quadriceps and does not go through them. however he goes through 2 areas. and those areas are smaller muscles. (its possible that he only goes through the IT band at(next) the knee and 1 small muscle in the upper section. in an cse he does NOT go through any major muscles and certainly does not go through the quadracepts but rther moves them slightly and passes them.

now we know that people have metal going through their muscles for tibia for months on end. (I know some people say that the doctor does not go through the muscles) but I am not convinced.

my question is....... what do we think the side effect will be for having pins go through muscles for 7 months, even if they are indeed smaller muscles next to the quadracepts for external femur. ?
