   HIS REPLY
The lengthening is technically possible.

Whether we do it for a particular patient depends on the examination.

Unfortunately I am unable to offer you any opinion or guidance about whether the police will disqualify you in the medical.

Dr Mangal Parihar
Orthopedic Surgeon, MumbaI

I WAS WONDERING ANYONE WHO HAS DONE LL AND CAN HELP ME GET THE RIGHT INFORMATION ABOUT THE ABILITY TO PERFORM THE PREVIOUS TASKS DONE BEFORE SURGERY, BTW I AM PLANNING ON DOING LL @ DR.MAGAL PARIHAR AROUND NEXT YEAR. :)

if you are 163cm and to be a police you  need 165cm you are discualificated right now. so doing leg lengthening it you will have almost a chance.
there is another surgery  i have seen on tv, they put something inside your head or toes , to increase your height, is another option.

I think they're asking if u had surgeries because they want to know about health problems, this is a cosmetic surgery, after the surgery the bone is as strong as before, and if u do a reasonable amount u'll most likely have a good recovery

Hey I was in the armed services in America.

When i was getting recruited, they first asked if i have any health issues or medical treatments. No matter what you say they still check everything. Aside from the standard blood tests, there was this part where we were all in a room with our boxers on only. Then they checked our ahole by making us bend over and cough. They also check your nutsack by having some doctors grab at them. A weird and humiliating experience.

The point is they are thorough because it does not benefit them to bring someone in and then theyre entitled to benefits but useless as a cadet. Throughout the whole proccess they kept saying if you withhold or falsify anything we ask of you(not just medical stuff) you will be kicked out and thrown in prison. I imagine it should be the same in India. I had no health issues when joining but my recruiter told me tk lie about past drug use and certain reasons for prior arrests.

This is the situation you are in. Hey dont want someone below 165 because they feel it will hold the unit back. You could do the surgery and then join but keep in mind it takes a while to fully recover so you might get found out just due to you being less capable with your legs(scars, maybe the bone looks weird, someone might notice long tibias, someone will notice your legs arent so great for a young male.etc).

Also, that paper trail will exist of you doing the surgery.

All that being said, theyre not actively looking for candidates of LL. The reasons i even had the balls to lie was because my recruiter told me to lie.

If i were you, i would do the surgery (because as someone stated, at the present moment you have no chance of getting in the academy and if you dont at least strive to do what you want then youre not living life correctly) and i would give it a coulple of years with intense PT regiment and then join.

As they say in the movies,
"The heat" (if there ever was any) should have died down by then and you can slip in the academy with the peace of mind that the LL wont come back and bite you.

Also, just make sure if you do LL and decide to join, asses your capabilities so you dont end up in a situtation when youre a cop where your possible incapability or limitations wont endanger yourselt or colleages.

Good luck
