« on: December 14, 2014, 05:57:57 PM »

if pin breaks, what can be done? surgery? is it painful to change pins??

how do we know if pin breaks?

if we walk more is there more risk of pin break

if we are heavier is there more risk?

During my time at Guang Ji Hospital I was there with 20-30 other foreign patients, and nobody ever broke a pin.  They bend but don't break.  When you hammer a nail at an angle, it will bend rather than breaking.  That's just a property of metal.  If you want to "break" it you usually are actually cutting it.

In the unlikely event a pin actually breaks, you'll know from x-rays.  Your doctor likely put in enough pins that there's redundant support for your legs, so they won't buckle just because one pin breaks.

will there be a sound when pin breaks?

if we walk around too much, could the pins bend more? resulting in less height?

I don't know about a sound because it never happened to me or anyone I know.

If you put weight on the pins, they will bend, resulting in less height.  That's why you measure your gains in x-rays not by keeping track of how much you turn.
