What's your take on Matthew McConaughey and Henry Cavill?
« on: November 13, 2014, 08:14:30 PM »

The forum has seemed a little dead recently so I thought I'd pull my straw and start a friendly discission.

What do you guys think about these male actors? They are generally considered very attractive, in Cavills case extremely so, and they are both interestingly enough quite disproportionate. More specifically they have really short arms -both of them.

I'm not sure how to embed (if anyone would like to be my guest) but here is a picture of Matthew: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/07/10/article-2171181-13F35DE7000005DC-103_468x570.jpg

..And one of Cavill: http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130321205816/smallville/images/4/4b/Henry-Cavill-Arms-of-Steel-for-Man-of-Steel-henry-cavill-26361890-983-1222.jpg

Do you think they look bad? These pictures are particularly unflattering but in general I think it's noticeable when you start thinking of it. Perhaps arm lenght isn't that important or do they just get a free pass curtesy of their fame?

Share yoour opinions and feel free to post other men with proportions relevant to us potential LL patients.

I've seen some forum posts where women commented on Matthew McConaughey having short arms. I don't think his arms are short so much as just looking short compared to his long torso. Henry Cavill's arms do look short for his height. I don't think either of them look bad though. Then again, I think short arms look good if you've got a stocky body in general as they just make you look bigger. It might be different for women, however.

Another guy with short arms that I like using an example of is the wrestler Terry Gerin, known more popularly as Rhino. He's around 177 cm but his arms look built for a 5'6 or 5'7 guy.

I wouldn't say they look bad, they look pretty normal. I never noticed Mcconaughey's arms being short until someone pointed them out to me. A good example would be Rocky Marciano, the American boxer. He was 5'11" with a 5'8" wingspan, which I think was pretty noticeable to anyone.

No doubt Matthew and Henry would look significantly better with longer arms, however since they have hollywood level handsome faces, are tall and have a well trained body, thats easily more than enough to compensate for short arms, so im sure most women wouldnt notice it since their other attributes are so good.

On an average looking dude those proportions would probably be more noticeable and more significant to his overall attractiveness to women.

Can't lie this wrestlers arms look really bad to me. Seeing pictures like that get me worried how I'll look if I lenghten more than 5CM, I agree though that I'd rather have shorter arms than unaturally long ones but everything in moderation of course.

I never noticed it either but then again I never used to notice height so what does that tell you? Happened to have watched two movies with Matthew in the last days and it was definitely noticeable when I had it in the back of my head.

How about tibia's, They appear to give the extra height in most people tibia's + torso.
I really can't tell if Bradley Cooper has long legs or my mind is playing  tricks on me  ;D

I wound't be so worried if i where you, You don't plan on modeling or something like that after this do you ?  ;D

Rob Henry, our climbing assistant, stands at 6’4″ but his arms span a whopping 6’8″, giving him a positive ape index of +4:

Luke Livesey, our Head of Instruction, stands at 5’7″ and his arms span about the same length, making him neutral:

Cyrena here, your Content Strategist, stands at 5’1″ arms are a short 4’10” across, giving her a negative ape index of -3:

Note: shorter people can have positive ape indexes as well. Just see BKBeasts team member Georgia for proof, who has a +4:

It's very simple, Just don't go over -2/-3 ape index.

However that is an issue. My "ape" index is -2 inches that's why I'm more interested in arm lenght. For example dad is 187 and has 78CM arms I'm 179 and has 75CM arms. That is also why I flirted with the idea of arm lenghtening. Suprisingly I don't think my arms look short at all nor are my shoulder particularly narrow.

Very interesting pictures though.

Matthew doesnt appear to me as a guy with short arms, he has a long torso and short legs as well as narrow shoulders making his arms look short. Dont get me wrong, hes well built but hes shoulders just dont look right. As for Henry, no homo but the guy is a f**king model, his arms do look short. Im guessing at his 182-184 height his armspan cant be more than 175-6.

You're right Matthews problem is his shoulders and Henry has slightly underdeveloped arms you can tell because his hands are quite small.
