What is the success rate of LL
« on: September 10, 2018, 11:46:19 AM »

It interest me to actually know this but while I’ve been on this forum I’ve spoken to many people who have done Limb lengthening and I’ve only ever heard about one having a bad experience with it the majority of people here seem to have successfully undergone LL and I’m curious to actually who on average what the success rate is, when I say success rate I mean basically being pain free and being able to be active in sports like running etc and if you know could you let me know how long it takes to be able to run again most people say around 2 years just want to know if that’s true as well thanks in advance.

Hi Racurz, If you visit some of the Paley websites via Google, there are some studies available regarding LL and the success rates.   You will be glad to know that the typical result of CLL that is done by the top doctors here in the United States is a success.  Patients end up taller and happier when it comes to CLL...and for those who request the LL surgery due to a deformability or other issue re the bone... they come out of the surgery also much better off.  I'll see if I can find some studies and post here.

If you go out of the States the failure rate is exponentially higher

I’ve heard some bad things about a Spanish doctor can’t get his name in my head though

There a few other great Doctors in the USA that perform the surgery as well.  If you're lucky enough to live by one its a great advantage to the process.

Yea unfortunately for me I’m in the U.K. 😣 I don’t think we even have an LL doctor so I’d need to get a visa and to travel etc still though here’s hoping I win the lottery soon 😂

You need to be rich for little to no risks.

If you're not to face exponentially higher risks but there are still experienced doctors to choose from

Paley isn't safe either. He does internal method for tibia lengthening.
