The decision to undergo surgery of this magnitude is never an easy one, but when i read diary of @Roadtotall it helped me to made my mind and from the moment I met my surgical team, I knew I was in capable hands. The compassion and expertise they exhibited put me at ease, making me feel confident about the path I had chosen.
I embarked on a truly transformative journey when I decided to undergo tibia leg lengthening surgery on December 26, 2022. Standing at 5 feet 5 inches, I had always felt a bit self-conscious about my height, and after extensive research and consultations, I decided that the LON (Lengthening Over Nails) method was the right choice for me because as a young girl it was my only option because of high price tag of precise. Little did I know just how incredible this journey would be.
The surgery itself was a significant step. I underwent tibia bone lengthening, aiming to add 6 centimeters to my stature. The procedure involved the insertion of nails into my tibia bones, which were gradually lengthened over time. While I won't sugarcoat it, the initial recovery period was challenging; there was some discomfort, but the dedicated support of my medical team kept me motivated throughout. I was not going to write anything here. Actually i didn't even check the forum since last year. Today when i logged in, there was a message from a girl who was asking my opinion about Dr Fatih. Message was 9 months old. Maybe its quite late to answer but i had an amazing experience with Dr Fatih. Now i just wanted to inspire people who is considering this surgery with my diary.
So the lengthening process was quite disturbing at the beginning. Like fixators attached to my legs and pain and thoughts of why the hell i did this. But in couple weeks pain went away and i begin to notice that i am getting taller. It required patience and commitment, as the fixators were adjusted incrementally, allowing my bones to gradually grow and adapt. As the days turned into weeks and then into months, I began to notice the remarkable transformation taking place.
Sleepless nights became a common occurrence as the pain persisted, and I had to endure physical therapy to maintain joint mobility and muscle strength. The daily exercise regimen was demanding, pushing me to my limits. The emotional toll was equally challenging. The journey was a rollercoaster of highs and lows, and there were moments when I questioned my decision. I do not remember how many times i cried at nights because of pain till my fixation removal surgery.
One of the significant milestones in this journey was the fixation removal surgery. It marked the end of the lengthening phase and the beginning of a new chapter. The pain and discomfort during the fixation removal surgery were minimal compared to the initial surgery.
Today, I am thrilled to say that I have reached my desired height of 5 feet 7.5 inches, surpassing my initial goal. My goal was at least 2 inches. The journey was undoubtedly worth every moment of discomfort and patience. I can now confidently stand tall, both physically and emotionally, knowing that I have achieved a dream that once seemed impossible.
The LON method did leave me with numerous small scars along my legs. These scars, however, are slowly fading as time passes, and I'm considering laser treatment to further reduce their visibility. The scars are a small price to pay for the incredible transformation and newfound confidence I have gained through this journey.
My tibia leg lengthening experience has been life-changing, and I would encourage anyone considering it to thoroughly research their options and consult with medical professionals. While the journey may be challenging, the results are truly remarkable. I am immensely grateful to my surgical team for their skill and support, and I look forward to embracing this new chapter in my life with confidence and pride.
