Should I have health insurance when I get the surgery?

So I know it would be ideal to have health insurance when I get the surgery but health insurance is already so much out of pocket, and I'm already trying to save up for the surgery. Is it really needed? Wouldn't the clinic I go to deal with all the complications that happen during the procedure?
