Bent nail/replacement surgery
« on: January 25, 2024, 06:54:10 PM »

So it turns out my precice nail has bent.

We’re not too sure why, potentially due to muscle mass in the quad 🙈 but my last 15 days of distraction didn’t work.

Second surgery is on Wednesday where I’m going to have the nail replaced.

I don’t suppose anyone else has had this issue?

What size nails do you have and how much do you weigh? They say it’s because your quad muscle is too big and strong?

The 8.5 I think.

Yeah they think that could be the reason because I’ve been non weight bearing.

No I haven’t finished. We are going to replace it and then continue the lengthening.

I’m an LLD patient

I couldn't fit the 10,7 mm nail, and Mustafa Uysal back then told me that he doesn't offer the 8,5 mm precice 2.2. nail since he had a tiny 150 cm girl bent the nail even tho she followed the weight bearing protocol. So yeah the 8,5 mm nail should be avoided if possible, but I guess in your case their wasn't any other option? Small bone canal like me?
