Dr Donghoon or Dr Paley
« on: November 12, 2023, 07:15:46 PM »

So there seems to be a lot of mixed responses for the lower cost doctors like betz/giotikas in my threads whom I was originally planning on going for precise femurs.

I've emailed both Dr Donghoon and Dr Paley and have received price quotes,
Dr paley would cost me around 120k usd while Dr Donghoon would cost around 90-100k usd in total(for surgery + accommodation + misc costs as Dr Donghoon does not have a packaged deal)

Could previous Dr Paley/Donghoon patients give their experiences/how much it cost in total for you guys that underwent surgery?

Edit** Okay, the fk lmao apparently Dr Donghoon has a 2 year waitlist????? Can anyone confirm?

If you want to do tibia then go with Dr. Donghoon, he offers LON external (ilzarov method) or precice for tibias, as well as obv precice for femurs. Most people here including me, did LON external for tibia. Average gain is 6 cm here, but i've seen others here going to 7-7.5 (although isn't really recommended).
PT, and surgery here are elite, as i'm sure you are all aware. I myself got done with 6.2 cm on tibias and I was walking naturally fine around korea like a tourist for hours with no issues and no real fatigue. (Only going down stairs looked a little awkward). This was around the 10 week post external removal. I am now doing femurs here at Donghoon.

Every single person i've met has made a full recovery and are thriving whether it is tibias, femurs, or quad. Haven't seen a bad outcome here, and donghoon has a 0% complication rate. There was even a patient with a complication that came from Paley that had to be fixed up here though I do not know there full condition. I strongly recommend donghoon especially for tibia surgery, especially if you are looking to do the cheaper option of LON.

The only thing I can think of for dr donghoon is the food. Food might be different for everyone but getting used to eating for 3 months. Hopefully they got American fast food and uberEats or something like that. But I would go with Dr donghoon for sure. His pt looks amazing on youtube.

I have been to Dr. Donghoon's clinic for consultations when I was in Korea.
He seems like a solid choice. But the thing that turns me off is that the clinic charges substantially more to foreigners.
Their reason for why is the programs are different for Koreans and for foreigners but I still don't find the reason to be justifying the enormous premium.
Also, my understanding is that the clinic no longer offers long-term accommodations.
So you gotta find a place to stay near the clinic if you are planning to do the surgery with Dr. Donghoon.
