  • The limits do not set you, you set the limits.
How does the surgeon predict the lenghtening amount
« on: August 25, 2023, 10:55:40 PM »

This might seem related to my previous post, but this is more about the methods. During the consultation, most doctors try to roughly approximate the total length you can go because of your bones and anatomy. How do they make this informed guess?

Specifically, how exactly do they determine those factors like overall bone health, etc., and how can I roughly find out it on my own in advance?

True, the general rule is 8 cm femurs, 6 cm tibias, but I am asking specifically about individualised cases.

In some northern regions of Samogitia, the average height for 20 year old males is around 6'3''.
So yes, you can say I am striving for average. 🙃

Estimate surgery date: 2026 summer

you cant.. lengthen and observe. Cant predict how your soft tissues will react. The bone can grow indefinitely as long as you are lengthening at a safe speed (1mm/day femur, 0.75mm/day tibia)

I don’t think anyone really predicts anything. You take it cm by cm. Day by day. Each body has their own limits you go along the lengthening while in contact with doctor

I did over 12cm on femurs. I clicked from 02/2023 to 07/2023.
