What do you guys do to afford surgery?
« on: June 09, 2023, 05:50:26 AM »

I'm curious what some of you in their 20s and early 30s (or your parents) do for a living that gives you a spare $100K to spend on CLL. Software engineering? Crypto trading? What is it?

Joined pre-ipo tech company as a new grad eng. We went public in 2021, had over $15m at the peak, but the stock crash in growth tech stocks (-70%) + paying taxes, I have around $3m in liquid stocks right now.

Pretty much every software engineer in the bay area / new york has lots of millions. It's truly nothing special. But we're also paying $4k+/month for rent in a 1bedroom apartment.

Can't you work remote to not pay 4k a month for a 1bed apartment?

yeah but my familys in the bay area so I still stay here. And remote will mean somewhere with the same with the same time zone too since I still have to be online around the same time. So like LA, San Diego, etc. Also taxes is like 40% because california income tax sucks

Lol if you believe anyone's claims of wealth online. Not saying everyone is talking BS but most are.

Put it this way: in all my years on the internet, I've apparently spoken to more multi-millionaires than I have guys on minimum wage slave jobs. In fact I don't remember ever speaking to one of the latter despite them outnumbering the former group IRL by thousands to one.

As for the question, well a lot of tibia lengthening goes for 20-30k or so which is easily saveable in a couple of years on any sort of reasonable income. Internal nails can be had for $50k outside the US. Most people aren't paying $100k for LL.

I've spoken of a very easy trick before which one can use to get the money for LL - max out your credit cards and don't pay them back. Despite what cucks on here will have you believe, the Visa and Mastercard special forces assault team won't be kicking down your door in the night and carting you off to a death camp for not paying your bills. If you're a normal enough guy with a normal enough income you can easily get 20-30k in credit, maybe more, which bridges the gap significantly between affordable and non-affordable. Don't pay it off, after 5-10 years it'll become statute barred and drop off your credit file like it never happened, and height is much more important than muh amazing credit score anyway. I've done this a couple of times in my life now, money for nothing, easy game.

I'm no multi-millionaire, not even close.  I didn't have a "spare" 100k laying around.  I set aside this money for several years to be able to do it.  When you get sick of heightism enough...you'll find a way.  I am not an 18 year old who wanted to looksmax or "slay" more.  I had a lot of missed opportunities and experienced heightism to the point where it was simply time to do something about it.  I don't go out clubbing or live in the hottest part of town.  I don't smoke, drink $10 day/ Starbucks, or take extravagant vacations.  It all adds up, next thing  you know,  you have the funds to be able to do it.  I would have done this earlier in life if I were financially able, but this surgery is the most expensive cosmetic procedure you can have done.  Cyborg4Life has a video about getting the funds, and I gave him some of my methods to feature on that video.  Keep at it!

You don't have to be rich to afford the surgery. You can go to reputable Doctors like Dr Giotikas or Parihar and have it done for under 50k.

Assume you make a median salary of 50k. Live frugally off of 40k, save 10k a year, you can afford it in 5 years. Or get external frames and afford it in 2 years.

That would require a lot of sacrifice, but it can be done. What it comes down to is how strong your desire to get LL is, and how disciplined you are.

Current LL plan:
QLL in Early 2025 using the PRECICE nail with Dr. Birkholtz.
4cm tibia, 4cm femur. One year later, re-break for another 4+4. 167cm -> 175cm -> 183cm

If you have a decent career and live within your means you should easily have enough money to do the surgery by your early 30s.
