Is there anyway to undo atl?
« on: May 08, 2023, 02:47:30 PM »

I have become weak after my left tendo achilles was lengthened in order to fix ballerina foot which was too severe. Is there any way I can undo this or any procedure and regain back my strength?

I was in the same.situation. Atl ruined me and that's why I always SHOUT whenever I can (in this forum and not only) t o avoid this insane surgery at all costs. Imo it should be even banned.

Thx God I found a very good doctor, one of the very few who understood my problem (most of the doctors thought I was just mad and that this weakness was only in my mind although I couldn't even have a proper gait from the lengthened tendons that ruined even my gait) and was willing to perform at shortening and make my achilles almost the same length it had normally, before LL.
I searched a lot and it was the only way to be again close to normal but the most difficult part was to find a doctor willing to do it. But fortunately, almost 6 years from the atl (and LL) I found him and he performed the at shortening in both my achilles.

Only after at shortening I felt normal again after LL. And yes, it worked and this doctor really saved me. Now I have some equinus especially at my right leg (about 2 cm distance from heel to the ground) but if I stand for a long time it is almost zero. Of course I don't have a normal r.o.m. but I don't care at all because my legs feel and are strong again and I always wear 2cm heel lifts so I walk and feel completely normal.

So, to have your legs back the only way is at shortening. Your ballerina will be back though but you may fix it in a big degree with years of stretching and walking. Stil, bf of ever 3-4cm is 100 times better than having thar insanely weak feet after atl which make you not even want to walk from your desperation abour your condition.

I must be the only one here that I did at shortening (in the old forum there was Craig also with the same veey good results) and trust my words, there isn't any other way to be back to normal after doing this hirrific surgery (atl) except from shortening the tendons again and have the achilles tension back to normal.

You would reach out to Rozbruch, Paley, Betz (no, not his student…yet…still waiting to read those case reports), Kandemir…

With the implementation of AAS (assuming they’re legal at your country OTC) you’ll likely recover in a way that would allow you to lead a completely normal life. It’s unfortunate that bodybuilder had a negative outcome but don’t let a singular patient experience ruin your opinion about a potential solution with actual clinical utility. Surgical expertise is wide ranging any it’s unlikely he went under the knife at the best hands. Feel free to drop a dm.
