"Giotikas diaries show many with misaligned bones" - Again no evidence or sources. Send me some links. Multiple other surgeons throughout the EU according to different people here on this forum as also have at least 1 death... Whatever you won't listen to logic and facts, but just one or two people had a bad experience. And you still deny that Precice 2 isn't weight bearing. This has to be a joke lol. Also you literally the only one on this forum caring about ITB release more than you should...

Mate what are you trying to achieve by linking unrelated posts about ITB where I did not even post?

I am not denying about weight bearing. I am asking which weight matters from that chart from paley. This post is about giotikas not nail weight bearing. Focus.

You don't have to agree with my view on giotikas. I'm not stopping you. I merely just told the op to do own research and think about the risks. Gotta see things as they are not what we wish them to be.

You have a very patronising attitude. Chill bro. People really need a chill pill.

It is not fake, there was also another member who had bone misalignment.
Please do research on the surgeon before doing this surgery. I really
Wanted to go with him but after a Death case, 2 people who had bone misalignment with him that I know and him allowing patients lengthening +8cm on femur I did reconsider my choices.

Yea I seen few diaries here with bone misalignment as well. OP, find these diaries and make your own choice.

I agree with Body Builder. Been researching for more than a year, and I come to the same conclusion. You can't find a more experienced surgeon in EU, espically not for that price!

He’s probably good but for people to question Dr Becker credibility without undergoing the surgery with him is just silly.

Regardless of who is 'the best' surgeon in the EU, one thing it can't be based on is ridiculous sample sizes like 1 patient dying vs 2 vs 0. Such small numbers are, absent strong evidence to the contrary of specific malpractice, far more likely to be the result of variance.

Paley might never have had a death. I've no doubt Paley is a great surgeon, but he's also been lucky if that's true. Not every serious complication is the fault of the doctor, nor the patient, sometimes it just falls into the category of 'bad stuff happens sometimes'.

When assessing the skill of a doctor it's far more worthwhile to focus on stuff there's a reasonable sample size on. How many surgeries have they performed? How often do their patients reach their lengthening goals? What's the incidence of more minor complications such as pin site infections and nail bending? How's pain management handled? What is the general consensus on the quality of the PT offered? All of those things will have a far greater sample size as they are relevant to all patients who have ever undergone lengthening. Focusing on whether one doctor had a single fatal case of PE in thousands of surgeries vs another doctor who had 0 tells you absolutely nothing unless there's actual hard evidence of malpractice in that '1' case.

1 bad outcome is rarely going to be proof of anything, you have to look at the overall trends to get a solid idea of skills.

Thank you. I realise now I have read this diary already. He did external fixators on tibias which already has a high risk of misalignment. The good thing is the doctor corrected it.

I thought we were talking about femurs in which case I haven't seen any non-unions on this forum with Giotikas.

Please get the facts right, otherwise this forum is useless. External fixators have a lower chance of misalignment, not a greater. That is considered the best factor of externals that you have that versatility in all dimensions
