Care to share who your doctor/surgeon was?  Or the organization?  Was it due to the surgeon or just unlucky?

It was the surgeons fault, so, by the time i reached 3.5 cm. i was doing .75mm-1mm /day, then he said after seeing my xrays that 'Your left leg is lengthening slower due to tight muscles so speed it up to 1.25mm/day, bc of that I got nerve pain, Tho i had all sensation but when i removed frame at 6.8 cm, I went into the OT with alot of ballerina but full sensation, He did ATL and in that he cut my sural nerve during it. I wokeup with no sensation on my sole and aloooot of nerve pain, that nerve pain was 12/10. I would rather kms than experience that pain bc it was due to a nerve cut and he told me oh its just removal pain it'll go away with time.
I left him and went to a neurologis who conducted an MRI and ultrasound and i have a neuroma on the sural nerve which needs to be removed and nerve needs to be repaired

What a f*cking nightmare.  Im really sorry this happened to you.  I cant imagine that type of pain.  I assume you went to Turkey or India for your surgery.  They really do not give a sh*t about people in these places.  Its just sham "surgeons" who are trying to escape poverty and are happy to cripple you and take your money to make that happen.

I am so sorry. Praying for your recovery!

May I ask who your surgeon was or from which country?

Do most people regain the ability to walk after 1 year? Is not being to walk post 1 yr uncommon?

It depends how much you lengthen, what method you choose, and how committed to your recovery you were through lengthening and into consolidation.

Mostly it depends on the doctor, little on your body. If you have a good doctor and your body is good, yes.
The most important is the doctor. There are many limb lenthening surgery methods. I would rather have a good doctor do a bad method than a bad doctor doing a good method.
