Any updates on the Precice Stryde method?
« on: November 28, 2022, 02:44:38 PM »

As we all know there were 2 main Precice-methods: Precice 2 and Precice Stryde.
However Precice Stryde had a recall because of rust or infection cases? I am not hundred percent sure.
Does anyone else do know what really was the matter with Precice Stryde?
Will it be used again in future?
What is the best alternative for fully implantable and weight-bearing intramedullary lengthening nails?

In terms of successful reputation, I would say go with the Pricise 2 nail

- yeah it had some corrosion issues

- it won’t be used again. The company is working on something totally new but I’m not sure if they will succeed.

- best alternative for weight bearing is the betz nail. Only downside with this nail is the way it operates.

Its not going to be called Stryde anymore, but there is a new nail in development.

Do not wait for the new nail if you want to do LL.  Clinical trials take years.

I agree. Paley recently said on cyborg 4life interview that it's end of 2024 at the earliest and very likey will be 2025 or later before stryde replacement is available
