Does Squats before LL help?
« on: July 04, 2022, 09:16:28 AM »

Hi guys! I wish to ask questions about the pre-LL exercise.

I know that if beneficial to stretch before LL. However, I am not sure if squatting - to make the leg stronger before the LL - is beneficial for post-procedure recovery and complication avoidance? or harmful?

Look forward to your comments and thanks!

According to many patients, the more muscular your legs are, the harder and more painful the lengthening is. I would stick to stretches and maybe jogging

I think stretching is what most preferred in the past. Not sure about now.

Don't do them.  You want your legs to be skinny and small going in to the operating room.

Zero point in training lower body whatsoever if you have future plans for LL. Lengthening big leg muscles would not be very fun, and even if you plan to do it 2024-2025, when you get it done you wont be able to train your leg muscles for 7-10 months which will kill any size anyway

Quadriceps muscles are important while walking but generally surgeons recommends hamstring or Achilles stretching exercises to prepare your body.
