Are you afraid or not ? Did you ever think about that ?
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:45:43 PM »

Hi guys , I am new here . I will do my LL operations in few years . But I still have questions in my head that need answers . Of course I 'll see a lot of doctors but need answers now . Do you think that we could get some illness cause of this operation years after . I mean we do know that some cancer are the result of inflammations so do you think that cause our soft tissues are streatching all the time we could get a soft-tissue sarcomas . Or cause we  touched our bones we could get a bone cancer ? Do you know peoples who have done LL over 20 years ago ? What do you think about potential sarcomas issus ? What doctors think about that ?  I don't try to scare you , I am just wondering an asking about these things ya know  .
Thanks  ! Hope you will answer ;

There aren't enough long term studies regarding cosmetic LL to know what we'll suffer from 30 years later.

If you do excessive amounts the only real long term concern will be to your flexibility which may or may not have an impact on your joints

Leg lengthening for cosmetic purposes in both legs is fairly new there are however people who have had single limbs lengthened who don't seem to suffer any long term problems.

The more you do the bigger the risk becomes. It also depends on the individual as well people who are naturally stiff should think twice about this surgery people with the flexibility of contortionists can likely do more than average.

Since my bid for moderator has failed I can speak to you with complete cogency and frankness. Don't be a pussy. LL is not that hard and is one of the easier times I've had in life. You get to relax in bed for months.

Orthapedic Surgeons perform limb lengthening surgeries on people who have shortened leg bones due to cancer.
So it would be counter-productive to perform a surgery that will actually increase the rate of that same cancer.

Furthermore, athletes fracture their femurs, tibias with inflammation and they dont appear to have any problems after surgery.

If you are very worried, you should not increase more than 3-4 cm on each segment due to mechanical problems.

Good luck. :)

Go do the surgery.
Get taller.
Get girls.
Profit.

In all seriousness I don't think LL will give you or increase the chances of cancer/leukemia.

I have always thought about arthritis and osteoporosis as a possibility of the long-term effects. Can we analyze the long-term effects of this surgery to people who did it for non cosmetic reasons instead since there are no studies A/V for the cosmetic side and it would be the closest and most relevant.

Current height - 168.5 cm: 5'6.5
Goal - 180 cm: 5'11
*2 segments (femurs-6.5 cm) + (tibia-5 cm)=11.5 cm: 4.5''

I can accept any circumstance except only being able to achieve 10-11cm or under in the end of procedures.. That will be more nervewracking than Leukemia or Ebola Virus

Then don't. There's a multitude of reasons why you may not achieve 10-11 cm without getting completely crippled if you really will keep stretching no matter what.
And please don't disrespect people with those diseases you mentioned. Keep those comparisons to your dark mind picture. Plus, you don't know nothing about them. You're even *tupid. With Ebola you die within days. So why not suicide yourself if you have to stop lenghtening at 5 cm?  Don't you even think before writing here, to hundreds of people?
Finish kindergarten before doing LL.

I am having way more fears of being short than being crippled or Ebola-striken.
Height is really really a mental killer who stays diligent at torturing you and tends to ruin your youth(you will be likely to get overwhelmed in bad feelings due to height) or even a whole life.

Your desperation shouldn't make you an *ss hole and doesn't give you the right to offend people that suffer from those diseases or that always will be short even with LL like me. I am also desperate. If you prefer Ebola just kill yourself and stop suffering.
