Cosmetic limb lengthening for a 20 years old male
« on: December 18, 2021, 07:51:19 PM »

Hi there! I’m new here and my English is not the sharpest, i need some advices and information on cosmetic ll, the different methods used to ll, possible cheapest, fastest, safest (not combined) doctors and methods, and real life experience from veterans here that had the surgery and when will I be back to my form or maybe like normal things like seating walking fast and possible sports activities. But the most important is safe&cheap.
And like what’s the average full healing time , like from the beginning of the process till I get home.
I would like to have tsf ll with dr giotikas from Greece but I understood the frames gonna stay long and make some hard and big scars overall so I’m waiting for ur responses guys!!

U don’t have to be rude , I wrote that my English is not good and I don’t understand some things that I’ve seen on the forum so I asked for more specific advices , if u don’t have something good to say or some advice for a young men that really want to do the procedure then just keep your things to urself and don’t reply, u think there’s enough good people here that can direct and help on those subjects

Good enough to write all this so what's the point?
People do different methods, doctors offer different methods, everyone experiences different things even doing the same method. All you want is somebody to summarize an essay and even if someone does this, would you do exactly what they tell you? There's technically hundreds of diaries and LL related topics for reference
Also, I actually stopped reading at "cheapest, fastest, safest..."

Hello, this forum has a ton of posts about these topics. I don’t think anyone on here is going to be able to answer all of these questions for you because it would be at least a 2,000 word essay (probably way more). So instead I’d recommend going on YouTube and watching Cyborg4Lifes content, he is an excellent resource and will cover almost everything you need. Past that if you have any questions I’d recommend googling “limb lengthening forum” followed by things that you may want more info on like “best cheap surgeons”. And then after that if you have any other topics that you want to bring up then I’d recommend posting!
You are new so I don’t blame you for not understanding the immense amount of information you are asking for and how all of it has been covered multiple times on here in depth.
There is a lot to learn, goodluck!

I can give you a short summary of few basic things to keep in mind:

- Safe limits when doing LL twice are 3 inches on Femurs and 2 inches on Tibias. It also keeps the natural ratio somewhat in check. If you do only one LL you can push Tibias more than 2 inches without big issues.
- Distraction/lengthening takes about 3 months for Fem or Tib. Femurs are distracted with a rate of 1mm per day, and Tib with 0.75mm per day.
- Consolidation takes twice about twice as long as distraction, after the distraction is over.
- If you want to feel safe walking during the consolidation, you would need a rod that can bear weight. The only cheap method for that is LON. I personally would not want to rely on half-way consolidated bone formation when an external frame is removed ....
You can look normal walking 3-4 months after the distraction, but it may feel not 100% easy or recovered. That feeling of full recovery starts somewhere at the 1 year mark and months beyond. That is when you can start to live completely normal
- You can safe money with a cheap surgery and use some of that to remove the visibility of scars over a long period with little surgeries and laser treatment. The scars will look better and slowly heal, but they need time before the purple color on the scars becomes pale. Additional scar treatment at home is a long process. You need to kneed it regularly, apply ointment, cover it with a sticky band-aid to get the best visual results. Scars also stick to the tissue below. You need to work on scars simply because of this sole reason since it restricts free movement or healing, and can have negative long term effects if you neglect it.

Thank u so much guys for the reply, I understand better now the treatment and different methods .
I posted this only because I saw a lot of posts and diaries and I just couldn’t fully understand because there were a lot of information I didn’t know how to make the connection between the surgery and all that information.
What u guys think on dr giotikas tsf frames ? Are they safe ? I kind of understand that i need to be with the frames at least 6 months but the lengthening process only about 3-4 month, so why they stay so much time on the legs? If I could get an answer it would be great so I could finally understand a bit of the surgery and treatment

Pure external for 6 cm is between 9 and 12 months in frames depending on your consolidation

Also, a side note. Don’t go down the proportions rabbit hole. People get hyper obsessed with proportions and lose sight of the fact that proportions vary wildly in real life. It makes some people develop additional dysphoria.
