Things I wish I knew before...exactly how f'n hard physical therapy was going to be. They start you out a tad on easy-street, then as you lengthen and get tighter...that same therapy gets harder and harder...to the point where you just wanna scream out loud. So yeah, there's that. Ration out your pain meds, as you won't get more than initially prescribed since the whole opioid crisis thing (thanks guys for ruining it when people really need it). Also, just how mentally taxing it is...I mean, you pay tons of money, to break your legs willingly, and become handicapped, and have months of PT that is dreadful. Another thing, how hard going up and down stairs would become...absolutely. Those stairs you never gave a thought to before, you will now. How hard getting up and down from a sitting position would be, and that included the toilet. Yep, it was a struggle. All that said...it's over now and I'm 7 cm taller. I could list 100 things I wish I knew before. Many of these diaries are the golden standard for that kind of information. But sometimes NOT knowing all the pitfalls can be a good thing too, because otherwise you may talk yourself out of a challenge that you could have easily taken on. What's a problem for someone, may be not be a problem to you. However, there are some universal issues that do apply across the board to CLL. Hope it helps some to hear this. Go for whatever you want and just jump in, once they break those bones...you're in it, and there's not turning back, and knowing that will make you power through it and come out stronger! Best of luck.
