Proportions.
« on: August 23, 2021, 06:05:29 AM »

Hello,

I haven't been active on this forum for a while, but I am back here now.

I recently got 120K RARE tokens as a result of my sales on a website called superrare. This token is evaluated at $1.34~ and as such I have money to go get height surgery right now if I wanted to. (I feel it's probably smart to establish that I do have funds for this, I would be able to cover the surgery anyhow but that would be with money that could be spent elsewhere - this is effectively free money so I believe it's appropriate for me to spend it on this!)

STATS
Height: 177-178 cm.
Inseam: 83 cm.
Torso (estimated by subtracting length from shoulders up): 66 cm.
Wingspan: N/A, my measurements are extremely inconsistent.

Initially, when I entered this forum, I was looking to get to 195 cm, but I think the closest I can plausibly get to is 193 cm so that is probably what I'm shooting for. (4 cm tibia + femur, two times totaling 16 cm). This isn't to say I wouldn't get 18 cm if it was deemed possible by the doctor, but by the looks of things that can't happen whatsoever.

I am also doing arm lengthening, which I'll be covering with the money I have put aside other than the RARE tokens. Which, even if my wingspan isn't as long as my height, I've found to be fine at least in my perspective from a cosmetic standpoint.

If we suppose I get a 16 cm lengthening, my legs will sit at 99 cm and my total height at 193-194 cm. This means I have a ratio of 0.512 (leg height/total height). I went on a biking forum where everyone compared ratios of legs to height, and I found people to have a >=0.508 naturally, which is comforting to hear.

I am going to take some photos but currently, I don't have any mirrors that would show my full body so I'll have to go elsewhere to get a proper picture. With that, I'll try to do a mockup myself (I assume I can just get a pixel to height ratio and lengthen based on it to get semi-accurate results?). So I suppose I'll know by then if I look disproportionate, but nonetheless, input from others is great and appreciated.

With the information here, what do you think? I am very eager to get surgery as soon as possible, but I obviously wouldn't want to make any mistakes.

If you have 200k plus available to spend on this surgery and have read diaries and done all the research you can and know what exactly your getting yourself into I would say go for it and don’t wait. Also where are you planning to get this surgery done? U.S. or overseas?

I'm still not entirely sure which doctor I'm going with but it's likely the one located in Florida. I'm in Norway so I would probably Airbnb or stay with my friend because she lives in the Florida area. I don't want to go back and forth because that seems like a hassle.

I kind of want to look at Turkish doctors but they seem inconsistent and I don't know if they could produce the results I want (seeing as I am asking for a lot of length, 16 cm - I haven't read much about people going THAT far with a Turkish doctor). Benefits here would obviously be that I would save money but at the cost of the quality of the surgery.

I'm somewhat interested in looking at possibly doing two separate doctors but I don't know if that's very conventional? Ie. First 8 cm in Turkey, last 8 in Florida seeing as those last few inches require higher precision and care.

Obviously, cheaper surgery isn't strictly necessary so that is just an idea. But what do you think?

I think I've done a good amount of research, I'm mostly scared of what my proportions will look like but seeing as you gave me the go-ahead here I'm inclined to just go ahead and do it. If I'm doing it I see myself doing it next month, roughly. Though I really want to give all options a proper thought, so I don't waste money or end up messing up my legs.

If your scared of your proportions you can make mock-ups, but more importantly lengthen and observe. While you lengthen look at yourself in clothes and see your proportions and judge whether you want to get more or want to stop. If I were you going with The best surgeons would be the best choice in terms of safety and care. But yes take your time and think through all options.

16cm is too much. 4-5cm in tibia and 6-8 cm in femurs are recommended, If you don’t want to severely impair the health of your legs.
