Will be doing precise 2 femur and tibia in one leg at a time. Still have to decide whether I want the femur nail to be inserted via the hip or the knee. What’s the best approach for the insertion?

Precice is usually done through the hip. I don't think your surgeon will ask you for your preference.

To clarify: This procedure will be femur + tibia in one procedure (only one leg). As far as i know tibia must be done via the knee. So he will do one nail through the knee anyways. Does it matter if he inserts a second nail via the knee as well? Does that have an additional impact? Apparently the hip affects your gait and walking in a worse way.

you really want two thick hole incisions in your knees? let alone just one, you want TWO!? Hip will affect walking while you're lengthening & early consolitadion, but once you're done it's bone and there, it'll regrow, but knee is not only bone, it's cartilage you're going through that doesn't come back the same. Your best bet in my opinion if you MUST have both, is Femurs through hip, tibias through knee.

I didn't realise you were doing both segments together. I think you should just ask the surgeon. Only those who have done quad lengthening would be able to answer this.

Very bad decision to do both segments at the same time.
I wonder who doctors does it. I never heard of it again. Even at 2021 some doctors still impress me and not in a good way.

Dr Paley offers this. He in fact does all 4 segments at the same time. At least OP is planning to do one side at once.

Siegfried, does Dr Kohne use EOS scans or traditional xrays? Are you concerned about getting xrayed almost 25 times (4 segments, each segment almost 6 times)?
