Hi, I am almost 4 months post surgery (surgery was on 7/20). till 2 weeks back I was like almost 80% recovered (walked well, stairs up done fine, could sit on floor folded legs etc.), but 10 days back during a heavy PT session I think I teared/pulled/hurt my left quad. I took rest for 2 days and had amost recovered but then due to work and PT I started doing physical activities again and the high pain is back, I read a lot and almost everybody is saying rest (with as minimal walking or physical activity as possible) and ice for at least 3 days will help recover to 80% and then you can do light stretch and then gradually go back to normal. so. I stopped all PT and minimized walking (to the restroom and back to bed and to the microwave for food and back), it has been 36 hours and am almost feeling 50% recovered, so am i on right track (though my pT had recommended light stretching of quads but it was aggravating the quad more and more so I went with full rest). note : same thing had happened to my right leg 45 days back and 6 days full rest had made me recover 100% and from last 39 days my right leg is 100% normal - this is another reason I decided not to stretch (though PT recommended stretch). AM i doing the right thing? i discussed with my doctor's assistant a(and my friend) Ronny and he agrees with me (that rest to recover fully and then go back to light and then medium exercises). Please give your valuable inputs, I need your help, advice and guidance to double check my decision, thanks in advance.
