Passed 45yo, should I give up any idea applying for surgery?

Am 177cm currently , but my ideal is 185cm, what do you think? Yes I know , but my people are relatively tall that means half of the men are above 180cm, recently 182.4 cm.

I live in Holland, the tallest country in the world (believe all the giants stories) and at 5'5 (165) and at 48/9 years old I am gonna do LL in 2018/19... so no, you should not give up on surgery, but at  175( I know, even at this forum, you lie about your height) you should examen other options first.. therapy, insoles, etc, etc.. because 175cm is ok, even in Holland.. sorry to be so blunt, just my 2cts..

If you were 60 and over, there'd be 0 reason for you to do it, IMO. I don't know what it is that got you interested in LL. If you know the risks, longer term effects, and are willing to break your legs and spend from months up to a year (depending on method) not really doing anything, in pain, with problems to perform simple daily tasks, risking possible issues like misalignment (depending on doctor), arthritis, malunion and possibly nonunion (depending on method and doctor), just to get taller than you are, at 177cm, then that is a personal decision for you to make. You are at an age where you probably already have your life sorted out. Not all doctors accept "patients" at your height, so keep that in mind too.

Thank you all....

I got absolutely and I repeat "NO" problem with my height, I look at it as improving my esthetics like others are taking surgery for more hair, doing their nose or teeth's. I just think height is a thing of beauty and do not quite understand you have to be developing a "problem" to perform any of these surgeries. Of course, I understand LL is a step up in personal finance, pain and time compared to other surgeries.

I got short legs compared to my upper body which is kind of big and this will improve some dimensions of my overall appearance.

I now got the time and funds and is probably not too old for a doctor to assess my application. If it is worth the pain I have to consider.
