I`m 5'3 and I wanna gain 4 inches
« on: November 20, 2015, 12:27:49 AM »

I`m 5'3, I've been on growth hormones since I was 10 and I`m now 18, sadly that was the maximum that I could reach, my endocrinologist said that I probably could gain 10 cm (4 inches)
on Femoral LL because my femur is that short, I heard that doing more then 3' is dangerous, if so why? Also I`m thinking on doing in Doctor Paley, would he do a 4 inches surgery?

Don't do 10 cm on a single segment, bad idea mate. I don't think Paley would considering 4 inches in one as there is a limit to how much PERCICE can lengthen.

If what you claim is true my friend, that you endocrinologist stated you could do femoral LL (which begs the question if and how does he/she know about LL) then my best advice would be to aim for 8 cm (3 inches). 3 inches isn't as risky, but for me personally I wouldn't do it because I'm just more proportionally minded and with this plan if you decided to do tibia then you'd be more limited. Alternatively, you could do 5 + 5 CM on both Tibia and femurs for 4 inch gain (which Paley can do); it's a safe alternative as you're not pushing your soft tissues and nerves to hard. In the end, you should also keep in mind your proportions as to not appear (too) leggy.

Check up on Programdude, Doingitforme, and Iamready for Paley perspectives. Cheers.

If you've got Paley money, you've got Guichet money as well.  He might be willing to do 4 inches on your femurs.  He lets some people lengthen even more than that.

Doing more than 3 inches on your femurs is a lot of lengthening, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it "dangerous."  It's been done, and if you have disproportionately short femurs, it could probably be done on you.

I measured proportions on high school and my torso was the same size of a the majority of my 5'7-5'8 friends, 2 surgeries is out of question, too much money, also doing outside of the US is out of question.
Do you think that palley would do 3" and 1/2? I`m actually 5''3 and 1/2 but I never put that on paper

Your torso might be the same size as 5'7-5'8 people, but your tibias will not be. So if you have a long femur and short tibia, you'll look kind of weird. At your height, I wouldn't recommend more than 3.1" or 8 cm on just your femurs. Keep in mind that even at a 2" gain, I was already really happy with the results. 3" gain was perfect for me. If I went with 4" gain, I'd probably not be as flexible as I am now. I'd probably be in more pain as well. It'd also take so long to heal up that I'd get really frustrated with being in a wheelchair for this long.

The precice 2 can only go up to 8 cm. I tried to lengthened past that, it didn't let me. You also couldn't physically lengthen it further, because the rod would have separated into two pieces. There's only about 1 cm to 1.5 cm holding the two pieces together after lengthening 8 cm.

Whether you can do 4" or not really depends on how flexible you are and how much your soft tissue allows you to. If you're not that flexible right now, you can forget it.

My son was 5'4" and he added 8 cm with Precice 2.  He looks fine.

Your femurs must be real freaking short to look perfectly normal with 4 inches.. I'm sticking to 3 inches because it's safer and stops me from looking too weird, but it's your proportions and body that'll decide if you can do 10.

In the same boat as you, I'm between 5'2 and 5'3(male).

EDIT: Assuming you have the money and time, you can do 2 LLs to gain 4-5 inches. Although your wingspan/upper body shouldn't be too short to do that much.

I was kind of 5'4'', and I used to feel really short, so I can understand how do you feel. I lengthened my legs of about 8 cm, reaching something like 5'7'', and I'm now feeling really good. Don't go for too much lengthening if you really want to do it.

If I were you I would try to gain 5 inches, at least you would be 5 8", 7 in femurs+ 6 in tibias.
