The implantable plates / rods looks very promising and would make external and internal methods obsolete? How long do you guys think it will be till these are on the market? 1 year? 10 years? 50 years?

What do you think? Worth waiting for?

The thing about advancement in any industry or human pursuit is that those invested in current technologies and designs, and capitalizing heavily from their implementation and proliferation will lobby indomitably to ensure their profits remain high. Medicine can be far more advanced than it currently is, but it succumbs to corruption, greed, and bureaucracy just like any other industry suffers. When all the stars align in the corporate sense, you will see these technologies reach the light of day.
