What's your feeling ?
« on: January 01, 2017, 03:38:33 PM »

Hi guys so first happy new years for every one ! health and height for you guys !
For the vets who have already done the surgery I'd like to know how is your feeling about your legs . I mean do you think they are the same as before or there is something that has changed ( not height ) . If there is something that is different than before the surgery  in terms of feeling . If they feel weacker or something .  Or do you think that now you are fully healed they are the same just longer ?
Thanks and cheers .

I'm about 1.5 years post op and I'd say my legs are still weaker and my balance is worse than it used to be, but my recovery is still going. I still havent removed my nails yet and I think that's an important part of getting back to normal.  I was in almost the best athletic shape of my life before I did the surgery and I don't know that I'll ever get back to that level, but I'm hopeful I'll get close eventually. maybe after I get the nails out and then another year or so I hope. I am very happy with my new height so I don't regret the surgery, but I realize not everyone may feel the same with that trade-off for athleticism

Can you tell us how many cm you lengthen, with who and which segment and method?

can you walk normally and enjoy your life and hang out?

when did you start walk normally?

more details will be better

~8cms in my femurs with dr guichet

yes and definitely yes to hanging out, especially the last few days for new years lol.

when did you start walk normally?
maybe a couple months after I finished consolidating. it depends on your definition because looking normal was a short period, but I still had minor hip sway for awhile that I don't think others noticed and it took a longer time for walking to "feel" normal and easy again if that makes sense

8 cm is a lot! Even if it's on the femurs. But then again it's Dr Guichet you were with which must have minimized the risks. Good to hear you are doing fine.

Current height - 168.5 cm: 5'6.5
Goal - 180 cm: 5'11
*2 segments (femurs-6.5 cm) + (tibia-5 cm)=11.5 cm: 4.5''

hey goldenegg hope your doing even better after view hours . Did guichet told you about the bonne marrow after you'll get the nails out , especially about some disease that could ( probably not ) like leukémia ( I'm verry worried about that ) cause of the new cells in your bone marrow  . I think than in 1 years or so you will be completly as before ,  you just take more time cause of the huge (concratulation ) amount you have done . And in 4 years this chapter of your life will be completily forgotten (  I hope for you )  .
cheers

yeah honestly it was a lot. I wouldn't recommend it to most people unless you were really desperate for those couple extra cms above 6cm and ready for a much harder and longer recovery

never been brought up and I've never heard or read anything about that as a risk yet, so it's not really a concern at all for me
