QUESTION ABOUT DR. GUICET
« on: February 26, 2014, 08:42:47 PM »

WHAT PERCENTAGE OF DR. GUICET PATIENTS GET NAIL REPLACEMENTS DUE TO BENDING?

I HAVE NOT READ ANYWHERE THAT A SINGLE ONE OF HIS PATIENTS EVER NEED TITANIUM NAIL REPLACEMENTS.
THE NAIL AND SCREWS ON LEECHLET'S XRAYS LOOK VERY SOLID AND AS HE SAID THE BONE WILL BREAK OFF BEFORE THE NAIL BREAKS.

SOMEONE WITH MORE INFO PLEASE CHIME IN....

I haven't heard any problems with his nails bending. If there have been some, I'd guess the amount has been negligible. In any case, Dr. Guichet is a great orthopedic surgeon with an excellent reputation. Those who go to him are in good hands, imo.

Yeah, me too. I haven't heard of nail bending but one diary I've read in anold forum with femur breaking. I think it's the patient's fault for being too active. Was it jay7?

Dr Guichet is top notch. If you read leechlet's diary, I haven't seen such follow up by any surgeon to a patient like that. I know that he knew leechlet is posting online, but still his follow-up and concern and patience are just out of this world. If he's doing precice, he would be my top two choice.

jay7 broke it with G-nail 1.0.

G-nail 2.0 is stronger. not only the nail but the screws too.

One of the last patients to use the PRECICE 2.2 nail. I met the first STRYDE patient and I strongly recommend the new STRYDE nail instead.

hey, i wouldn't be so premature to conclude the strength of the nail just based on my diary. after all, i am like 125 lbs and has 13mm nails fit into me. so i am a bad case to judge the strength of the nail. also, my bone density is rlly bad so having my bone fracture before the nail doesn't say very much.

i think we should all remain skeptical (in healthy amount) about all surgeons until we rlly know much about them and their results. while it's true that i haven't heard of nail bending from the patients i've personally met or skyped with of Guichet, my sample size is too small to make a claim about his nail as i have no idea of their weight, bone strength, nail size, lengthening amount, etc.

i put everything Guichet says to the highest scrutiny. i trust no one until proven otherwise, espeically in something as high stakes as LL. having said that, Guichet seems to be telling the truth thus far. but i always look for bluffs in everywhere i can think of. he claims his nail is the strongest and he is the best in the world.

i skyped with a very intelligent prospect LLer today, and i tell everyone that in order to see the legitimacy of ur desired doc, u rlly have to phsycially meet up with his ex patients, especially the ones 2-3 years later to get their nails removed. after all, that's what we r rlly looking for. after all is said and done, we want to be in top condition after consolidation. i have a long way to go until i get there. so although i document my slice of reality very intimately, i am only one slice of reality. just bc i write stuffs and make vids, doesn't make me any more a LLer than the hundreds of others who choose to remain annoynomous. so u gotta meet those ppl and have a convo with them and see how they move and stuff to rlly guage how good a doc is  ;)

from the small pool of former patients of Guichet, can you say anything about their recovery process? have they lost athelticism?
