Hip swaying is caused by:
- Weak gluteus medius muscles
- Tight hip flexors
- (To a lesser extent) Tight quads
My hip swaying would have been totally gone by now, but it's there ever so slightly because of one of the screws (Dr. G is infamous for using HUGE screws) protrudes a bit into my left glute medius muscle. This isn't a huge concern, as I've spoken to many Dr G patients who had this, and it resolves completely ones the nails/screws are taken out.
When I do squats now and anything that activates my glutes, I feel a bit of pain on the left side, and so I have to hit them at certain angles to avoid this pain. If it weren't for this (and the fact that my left glute medius is probably a bit weaker than the right), the hip swaying would be gone by now. No one notices it but me, though, it's very subtle now. But I still know it's there, and I still feel that my left glute (even though I've managed to get my ass back to a large degree) still feels slightly weaker than my right.
