Is Limb Lengthening right for me? Please help.
« on: December 08, 2015, 09:10:14 AM »

I'm 18 right now and am interested in getting limb lengthening surgery. I'm 5 9.5 and am pleased with my height but I have always wished to be 6 - 6'2 to get a job I am interested in. I went to new york to see a few modelling agencies and was told that I have the perfect look but was lacking in height. I am not very active but I love dancing, and I am afraid I won't be able to do that after the surgery. I am okay with having 1 year+ downtime, but I don't feel comfortable leaving the country to do the procedure. Any info or articles to read would be great, which surgery and doctors recommended, dangers etc.. thank you so much.

This whole forums is a good start.
Don't do it before you have read a lot of hours here first. You will find answer on all these questions by reading here. You will understand if LL is right for you after just a couple of hours reading.

Thank you. I have been reading for the last hour and have found lots of information. Seems like Paley is the guy to go to? I think it is right for me but I don't want to do something I will regret. If I do go through with the surgery I would like to get it around age 20.

Tell those modeling agents that Derek Zoolander is only 5'7 yet he made it big because he is really, really, really ridiculously good looking. :P

You could do 2 inches, be 6' even and get back to dancing. Doing 4 inches or so to get to 6'2 makes things hard.

I'd be careful. You have to take into account how your legs would look with the rest of your body. If you end up looking weird they might not accept you, considering how picky they are when it comes to the overall look of a model.

A good person to ask about this or read the diary of is ProgramDude, who is a male model who went from 5'8" to 5'11"+. Don't skim any diaries. Read the whole thing through to get an idea of what it's going to be like.
