5 cm or 6.5 cm for internal femurs?
« on: October 18, 2015, 07:21:35 AM »

Would an extra of 1.5 cm do me more harm than benefits? Its really tempting for me to go for 6.5, however, I also care about proportion and physical ability wise. I heard that people who did internal femurs did have chronic pain in their knees. This is also my concern :)

When I do femurs, I'm going between 7 and 8cms.

I've read it depends on each person. When you get to 5cm, if you can handle more as per your doctor's word, go for it. Since you have the luxury, stay open minded about stopping at 5 or increasing when the time comes.

I personally think 5 cm is dangerous enough, and 1,5 cm can make a big difference to your proportions when you're balancing on the edge between weird and normal.

I've decided that if I do femurs, I'm doing 6-6.5CM and for tibia, I'd do 5CM. I've never seen someone look disproportionate after 6.5CM or less in the femurs, but after 5CM in the tibs, I find that they start to look unnaturally long. My friend who is 195CM only has like 3CM more in the tibs, and much longer femurs. I think this tends to be the case with most tall people. For example, the average knee height for a 188-190CM person is 60CM according to NASA. My knee height and that of a lot of other 178CM people I know is 56CM. Tibia length just doesn't change that much as height increases compared to the femurs.
