Reprogramming personality after reaching your required height
« on: August 30, 2014, 03:08:42 PM »

Hi guys,

I've been thinking alot about why i want to do this surgery recently, is it just vanity? Will I feel exactly the same inside after the surgery?

My conclusion is that my height has led to the development of a borderline personality, so much so that I don't recognize the bitter, angry, lonely, jealous man that I have matured into. When I was younger and of average height, I was such a happy confident, social kid, but the massive height spurts I suffered in puberty meant that within a year I was a social outcast at a skinny 6'7 @ 15 y/o.

Over the years I really hardened up (to deal with the bullying), bulked up and learned to become very efficient at being by myself, at overcoming the awkwardness of a >1 foot height difference with the opposite sex. But there have been costs, big costs.

That is that height dysphoria "small man complex" (or in my case "giant complex") rots you from the inside. I'm sure many of you can identify with this trauma. That constant pain picking away at you everyday, that social isolation never lets the wounds heal that for many of us started to open in school.

Why am I gonna do this? Despite the pain, the money, the risks, the scars, the time?

Because I can't live like this anymore. Because I have made terrible decisions with my life and career all down to a single changeable insecurity. I went aggressively into a investment banking career just because I thought my height meant that a woman would never look at unless i had cash. Now I have cash, I realise that this thinking was flawed, woman just want a guy with mid to above average looks at ease with himself.... that is a form of true wealth.

All I want and all any of us should aspire to is just simply the feeling of being with others and not being at all conscious of our heights. The feeling of blending in. It may sound like nothing, but we know that it is the most prized thing in the world if you don't have it.

So I guess the point is that after the surgery, I'm not expecting miracles.. just gonna take some time to take it easy and let those wounds heal for good. I suggest you do the same. :)

How will I do this? Your thought would be appreciated. I was thinking of just spending time with new people, just enjoying the company of social people again. Hosting dinner parties etc.

Your thoughts brothers

I'm pretty sure 99% of the women won't realize the diffrence between a 6'7 guy and a 6'5 guy.

My stature among a few other things definitely prevented me from mentally behaving and acting like the person i felt i was. For such a long time that some of my close friends dont even know my real personality. Im anticipating that it will take a long while for some of them to get used to the "new" me.

Agreed, Thats why I'm going for 6'3  ;)

>6'8  Freakish:  100% of people will comment -- people shout at you in street daily
6'5-6'7  giant in 95% of peoples eyes -- verbal abuse in street once a month
6'4 a very tall man, but see this everyday to be honest
6'3 averagely tall:  For instance SEAL is this height and i've never seen anyone mention him for his height ever.

6'3 is male model height.

What have you noticed about the real you? Are you more outgoing, friendly, positive?  Any negative things?

Mrtall, i think you should go for 6'4 instead. There is no negatives with that height, and maybe better recovery compared to removing another inch.

its definitely a consideration. Andres Velencoso is this height and I look very similar to him.. its a strong masculine look.. but an inch or two within the "giant" boundary.

Would do 5cm femur, 3.5cm tibia in this case. Depends on the surgeons view... certainly 6'4 is the minimum

Ive always felt very masculine and adaptable (being able to socialize with almost any kind of people) and being able to calmly act on most situations that would be stressful to others. As well as having a varied sense of humour.

My stature (and being skinny, as well as some unfortunate things happening in my teens which lowered my confidence significantly) made me realize that acting like this people wouldnt think i was genuine, rather it would seem i was always trying to impress somebody.

If people would see me as the same person i always did, then i wouldnt care if they liked me or not. But since i feel like they have the completely wrong idea about me, it seems like i care more about others think about me than i actually do, this has probably made me seem insecure to some people as well.

I feel like now when im taller, i truly dont have to be be as passive as ive been, and also i can focus more on myself now, and not worry about others opinions. I feel more self sufficient, like i can contribute more and that i dont have to compensate by always being nice when i hang out with popular people.

The negative i guess is that some people might think i have become more arrogant, but then this will only affect people who has been arrogant towards me.

Jared Padalecki from Supernatural is 6'4 and he is considered extremely attractive by tons of women. They always refer to him as tall and masculine, but never have i heard anyone consider him freakishly big or a giant. His build is athletic but not overly buff either.

I think you wouldnt have any of your previous social problems with that height.

Man you have a gift that only 1 out of 1000000000000000023 people will experience.

Why are you being such a p*ssy though?. Get on the juice get a charismatic personality and just live life like none of us mortals will ever do. The girls are automatically attracted to you. But you are so unaware that you don't see it. You could literally take any woman from the hottest guy on earth simply because of your height. But i guess you want to be average in life. average wife, average car, average kids, average wage, average dog, average everything.

Maybe im being cold here but man what i would do with that height. hohoooooo maaaaaan

It's fallacious to assume that every quality is better bigger. Beauty for instance is really a combination of "normalised" features.. look at a guy like pierce brosnan, he doesnt have a single strong facial feature.. but its the harmony of normalised features that make some beyond the average. Diminishing returns beyond 6'1 in my opinion...

Women want a guy they feel comfortable with, not who is a walking behemoth.

The only things which I can think of that are infinitely scalable for the positive are facial aesthetics, wealth and intelligence. I do not want to be average in those things.

I am confident that my height will not matter at 5'8 (even though it's still below average) and if I do face heightism at 5'8, it will not hurt me knowing that I had given my best shot to gain those several extra inches
BTW which doctor(s) are you considering?

That's an interesting point, the fact that you adapted to life shorter than 5'8 but will have those extra inches makes me think that you will feel taller than the average 5'8 guy.  I am thinking same thing, as the other day i bent my knees in a conversation with some poeple (i was around 6'4) it felt amazingly different, yet I have met 6'4 guys who hate their height.

5'8 in your mind will be like 5'10 ;)

Yh, its a strong look. Clint Eastwood, Ben Affleck, Marcus Schenkenburg all pull of this height.

That's great dude! A bit of arrogance is good if it comes from a place of security rather than insecurity.

yeah i guess youre right, but honestly if i never met arrogant people i would probably still with my new height try to repress that part of my behaviour. But unfortunately since the world is full of narcissistic bastards i wont hold back and let my dominant side deal with them when i encounter them.  :P

Most modeling agencies are looking for 6'-6'2". If your 6'3" they'll allow it but they want 6'0-6'2".
6'3" and 6'4" is common however, it's significantly less common than 6'0-6'2".

It's unfortunate in this world that your physical manifestation will ultimately be what defines you. You can state or try to think otherwise, but we are always at the mercy of our biology. I am already mentally transforming into a different state of mind from what I was in my previous physical form. People react to me differently now and I think very differently on a day to day basis as a result of these new reactions (could be that people view me as a cripple right now due to my pathetic walking).

While I'll never know what it's like to endure life at such lofty heights, the few gentle giants I know embrace their lengthy forms, and get along fine with women and men. Women seem to be fine with imposing height as long as the being controlling it is not intimidating. Just look at Shaq. The man is over 7 feet tall but people regard him as a teddy bear due to his personality. Something to consider.

You have a height of a hero at 6'7, build muscle, take care of yourself, build your career and you will conquer everybody, ahh and wear flat shoes, if you get a 5'7 gf she will be 6ft to 6'1 on high heels, she will be the godess and you will be the god

Reprogramming personality for the best? Since you are taller you feel more confident but there are people who collapse due to LL because it's too hard

So many people here live in a different world. Taller is NOT better. Look at the tallest person in the world - he's a freak. Past a certain point more height starts to bring many problems. There is a very sweet spot which is about 2-3 inches taller than the average in your country, from what I've observed. Anything taller than that is not better.
