Is it easier to treat equinus once the frames are off?
« on: March 01, 2015, 04:34:17 AM »

Do you think wearing frames actually makes it harder to treat equinus than if you were to do exercises once the frames are off? It looks like a lot of doctors put wires just above the ankle and it makes me think that they probably inhibit stretching that area. Just a thought, but do you think getting the frames taken off will allow you to treat equinus faster?

I don't think so. I haven't developed equinus and I have no pain when I perform dorsiflexion. I think it is because the pins don't go through or near nerves and crucial muscles. I think for indian doctors, there were much more problems.

I am off painkillers now, still lengthening at 0.5 mm/day, and I don't experience any pain.

I think so.  Walking helped me more than anything else with lengthening the muscles and tendons, and it became much easier to walk without the frames.
