Lets say you are American, at 178 cm which is 2 cm above American average of 176.
You grew 8 cm.  Your height now is 186 cm.
Most of your teenage life you wore lifts, bringing you to 183 cm (5 cm).
How would life change for you?

Or, insert any country, with average height "x" cm.
You are (x+2) centimetres.
You lengthened 8 cm so you are (x+10) centimetres.
You used to wear 5 cm lifts.
How would your life change?

My life would get exponentially better, not because I am taller, but because I won't have height neurosis / dysphoria.

My life will get slightly better just because I'm taller. (This is assuming, as you said, that I'm starting at 178 cm)

It is very different. If you went from178 then +8 =186 cm bare feet.then plus shoe 3 cm (with out lifts)=189 cm .then 8t is equal you went from 178 to 189 cm a lot of diffentiation in your eyes level.

If I grew 8cm it would be a change as drastic as turning transsexual, enough said, lifts alone already change things so try it if you haven't so you can get a preview of the real thing.

With lifts (1.74 + 4 cm + 2cm shoe height) which equate to a person who is around 1.78 m tall in Singapore (and that is 1.8 metres when measured with shoes on), I already feel quite tall, though about 10-15% are still taller than me. Many people here are 1.78 m tall +/- 1 cm.

So I expect, that when I am 1.82 m tall, with shoes that is 1.84 m... Versus, 1.8 m height with shoes on.

1.8 vs 1.84 (height with shoes, 1.8 being height with insoles before LL)   is 4 cm of difference which is pretty large..... its like wearing another 4 cm of lifts.. so I think it will be quite life-changing..

I agree. I think it is in my mind - the height neurosis. Without height neurosis I will be even more outgoing than before, and even more confident in my own skin (I already am). Life getting better AS A RESULT of my height, I think so too - that's maybe slightly, as I was already tall with lifts.

yup but it is fairer to compare on a shoes-on-shoes basis.
if someone is 1.78 and wears 5cm lifts like I do, add the shoe height of 2 cm, it is 1.85.
If he goes for LL 8cm, and wears normal shoes, that is 1.78 + 8 + 2 = 1.88.
That's still 3 cm of height.
If we compare bare-feet height, it is a huge  8 cm though.

Many people wear shoes with only 1 centimeter and they look the same at bare feet.

77% of respondents thought it would be more than a merely noticeable difference.
ALmost everyone think it will at least be a noticeable difference.
And about half think it will be a difference between the sun and a moon. 8)
I cant imagine how it is like for 8 cm, but at 5 cm+ I think I get looks from people thinking why my legs are so long (I cover them up but I guess they do look pretty long.. and its manly!)

I think the worst thing that can happen is calves that are longer but very very thin, devoid of fat and muscle.

Long and muscular calves look good!
