temporary 1-2 cms
« on: December 20, 2014, 11:31:36 AM »

I've seen some blogs saying that doing some regular stretches like cobra and pull ups for 5-15 minutes a day u can gain up to 2 cms of temporary height , I don't see why they should lie, its not like those programs that say 4 inches in 8 weeks, if u think about it , it sounds very possible and here's why:

-it may correct your posture and gain something like 0.5-1cm
-during the day you can lose up to 2cms,so if you stretch your morning height and strengthen your spine you can be 0.5-1cm taller than you were previously at night

If it works here are the positives:
- you stretch your arms and your spine
- you can cut your LL goal by 1 or 2 cm if you do more than 5cm
- by combining the 2 positives above you get better proportions (arm and torso length) and better athletic recovery with same height as if u were doing only LL by 2 more cms

I also think if you do the strectging exercises and the pull UPS in the morning and at night for 10 minutes with proper sleep and nutrition for 8+ months u can gain those 1.5-2 cm, some of it permanent and some of it temporary, by its still height and every mm counts for us

Sounds very plausible. Glucosamine is also a good idea--Ive been on 1500mg for 2 months. I haven't measured for gains because expected .5cm I probably got is within the margin of error for home measuring, plus the morning/night height difference of 2cm can easily obfuscate gains from gluco. But relative to the people I see every day I actually do feel a bit taller.

I made a topic a few weeks back about upper body lengthening, you could check that out for more ideas. Also, I found an article where a lady went from 5'2 to 5'4 after a pretty brutal 6 week course.

Probably not all permanent, but dedicated stretching is a low price to pay for that extra 5cm of torso length and what it does for your proportions.

You mentioned arm length, how are you saying stretching can increase that? You could stretch the skin and muscles in them but they still are only as long as the bones.

like sprinting cause microfractures into the bone making them to grow more but the amount is like 0.5 mm, doing pull ups and push ups with clapping between one and another may have the same effect

I really want to believe LSJL works and the microfractures can grow bones longer, but I kind of doubt it. Imagine your long bones are like a PVC pipe... You could make small chips all around the outside of it and then fill them in, but that wouldn't make it any longer. Thicker, yes, but probably not longer. Unless the fractures also happen INSIDE the bone and not just on the surface.
