When doing tibia lengthening, at which point is ATL necessary? Around 5 cm? Is it possible that there are several forms of ATL, from mild to extreme? Some patients have done more than 5 cm, and they don't complain at all. I imagine they didn't have ATL or had a mild form of ATL performed.

So it’s sure that after 5cm on tibia you will need ATL? Because there is a lot of person who did more than 5 cm and didn’t need ATL..

ATL seems to be controversial based on e-mails I've exchanged with CLL doctors.
It's a surgical way to solve ballerina foot (equinus contracture).
I'm not a doctor, though. I'm just reporting what was stated to me. Of course Catagni and Pili will defend ATL, and the ones who don't do it, won't. They each have their medical reasons, and those should be consulted and weighed with the proper medical professionals.

Can BF be cured through extensive therapy/stretching?

never. work hard to get bf off. it can take months but itll get better eventually. the only people that get bf are lazy people anyway so just pay attention.

Any input on how to avoid BF, what steps are to be taken during LL to avoid/reduce BF?

A stat from Solomin/Kulesh:
« Is it possible to reach a goal of 6.5cm without having to do ATL? - yes (40-30%)
Have you ever done LON / LATN for such a measurement (6.5cm) and if so have there been many complications with the patients? - about 10-15% I'd say »

I think 5cm is « safe » on tibia but when you do 6-7 you take a real risk.

Lol i guess you calling me lazy 😂
I would stretch 30 minutes before lengthening and after as well. I would even make sure to walk minimum 2 hours a day. I still got ballerina foot! I think it all depends on each individual and how stubborn the persons soft tissues are at stretching.
That or we are just lazy as the expert suggests lol
