Okay so if i am 167cm and need to be around 182cm so gain 6 inches (add 7.5cm per segment like FAQ says).
Reading the forums have shown me that one should lengthen to match their wingspan (like FAQ says) and mine is 177.8cm so i am fine with lengthening to that point, but should i just go ahead and just add the 4.2cms to reach my goal or is that a bad idea?
And if it does get unproportionate should i just get my arms lengthened to even everything out?
I am also planing on going with Dr Leonid N.Solomin in Russia cause of all the good things i have heard but i am wondering out of the three methods (LON,LATIN,EXTERNAL) he offers what are their pros/cons for each?

It's okay to lengthen about 5cm longer than your wingspan. I don't think you'll need arm lengthening if you lengthen to 182. My pre-LL measurements were about the same as yours. Right now my height and wingspan are both 178cm and I think I could add 5cm more and be okay. In fact, I'm considering doing that to get to 6 feet.
External-only
Pro: The least-invasive and cheapest method of LL.
Con: You have to stay in the frames a really long time.
LON
Pro: Less time in frames than external-only while still being quite cheap.
Con: Potential complications from invasive nailing surgery.
LATN
Same pros/cons of LON. The only difference is when the nails get put in.
Internals
Pro: Least amount of scarring.
Con: Most expensive method, same risk of complications from invasive nailing as LON/LATN. If there's a problem with the device, you'll need additional invasive surgeries to fix it, and you might end up paying for them depending on which doctor you choose.

I am most likely going to do LON and was wondering which countries are the best at LL surgeries?
And is LL surgery a good idea for one in modeling? like won't it really hurt my appearance?
And i just am worried i might look like one of these guys with long legs and short arms like MasterHY ( makemetallerindex.php/topic,6322.0.html)

If you really do some serious modeling, maybe the scars will be a problem. But I've never seen a 167cm male model...

better to have some scars than be short.... scars can be greatly minimized.... and a lot of girls don't even mind scars.... however 99% of women do not like short men

Battle/injury scars can be attractive to some women. Surgical scars and Ilizarov scars that are obviously not randomly placed, not so much.

Yea i am just starting out lucky which is why being 6ft is really going to help
So from what i can tell you guys are saying it is okay to lengthen 5 cm beyond your wingspan?

women are not going to notice your scars and think.. " those are not manly scars, those are obviously caused by ilizarov"
scars are a non issue.... being short is 100000000 times worse than having scars.... can also get surgery to greatly minimize the scars

You're right. But women will notice the scars, especially when you're nked, and they will ask about them. It'll be pretty obvious that they're surgical.

The scars are pretty much invisible if you've got hair. And if you don't, they still lose color with time and are not easy to notice. That should be the least of your worries lol

Alright, that's great to know! RGKEY's scars are really noticeable in the pics he posted though.

Mine are not, though. If you get scar revision surgery it'll be fine.

That's what I'm planning on doing, since I'll be doing at least tibiae externally. I saw your scar pics, MDOW, and would love to have scars as minimal as yours after LL. Scar removal specialists do usually charge by the scar, and it's length, depth, type, and area, correct? Ilizarov leaves so many scars that in afraid that the cost of removing them will be quite high. Still, scars are not the worst of my concerns, athletic recovery and proportions are, so if there is a little scarring, I don't care much as long as it isn't gruesome or scary looking and as long as it doesn't look blatantly surgical. Maybe I can just slowly remove them scar by scar as the spare funds to do so become available. LL will take a good chunk of my money when I do go through with it, so I'll need to be careful what I spend on (ie scar removal) afterwards.

I know one leg-correction forum, where main users are women. There's like thousands of them, with albums and such, their scars are barely visible. I mean if they don't care about it, we definitely shouldn't.

Plastic surgeons' criteria for what they charge for scar removal probably varies from surgeon to surgeon. I went to a surgeon I was familiar with and didn't ask him about how he came up with the grand total, I just had him do it because I knew him and trusted him. I did it just like you said, removing the scars gradually over a few years whenever I got the money for it.

Imo,scars are irelevant to women,height is.U can say you had a car accident or injury from football,but if u 180+ they will look more in your eyes than your legs :D

You won't look too disproportionate if you lengthen 5cm past your wingspan, and yes, if you want fewer scars you should lengthen with an internal nail.
Regarding the 3cm/3cm vs. 2cm/4cm, it really doesn't matter. A cm here or there won't make any noticeable difference to your proportionality.

Why do you want to do to segments. I would go for 5cm in femur. What is your ratio?

I think that's a fine plan if you want to get to six feet tall.

Do it,15 cm is noticable and lifechanging,it takes about 2 years but its worth it.

1.5-2 years,but it's worth it.I'm thinking to do myself that much.

so would it be better for me to put on a bunch of muscle before the surgery? Then I would not look so skinny after the surgery
Will the recovery time decrease if I go lon on both tib and fib?
And do they do this surgery all at once or do they add a few cm then wait a few months then finish the job?
At the time I will be living in new York alone so after the surgery is there thing I should worry about?

As someone with a lot of mass, I'll say that bulky legs probably made the lengthening a lot more painful, and it seems to be the case with others that have a lot of leg muscle. Two doctors I spoke with said more muscle would make you have better blood supply and help with healing in the end however, but I haven't quite got to that point yet. It's a good idea to work on your upper body strength though. I'd do dumbbell flyes for chest and a lot of tricep pushdowns. It will help when pulling yourself up onto your walker.

A whole lot, primarily in my quads. A lot of my physio exercises are focusing on that now because I lost so much quad strength that it's become a lot harder to do leg extensions.
