Hello there.
I'm new to this forum but i've known about LL, getting taller by surgery, since i was about 17 years old. Turned 19 not to long ago.
I'm a guy living in sweden. My height is 170,4 cm and my dream height is around 180 cm (so just about 5'6 to just about 5'9).
I know that i actually should be rather happy with my height considering that my mother is around 150 cm and my father around 160 cm and the fact that there are people much shorter than me yet i'm here wanting to get taller... And my younger brother is 180 cm...
In any case my question is; When should you overrule the LL surgery due to not being too short like in my case 170 cm and go with shoe lifts instead, even if the lifts will cause problems in the long term? And do you think that there is a point in which you could overrule that?
I'm wearing lifts now and then and they do hurt at times but you get over it rather quickly.
Thanks!

The taller, the better tbh.
even tall guys wear lifts like 6 foot 2 guys to appear even more taller.
Just look at any Fitness Model's(Jeff Seid, Jaco De Bruyn, Steve Cook etc) Instagram page, they're wearing those nike height gain shoes to appear taller.

One thing that is for sure is that people that are taller get more in life just because of their height, and that's really no wonder. They will be looking down on most people and most people will be looking up to them so psychologically speaking it makes a lot of sense.
(Like a king and a peasant complex, that's why the kings throne is so highly elevated from the floor level).
But imagine going from 170 cm to 190 cm... that would be rather insane and weird looking in the end. But my dream is still 180 cm.
Thanks for your answer.

Shoe lifts of 4cm give at max 3 cm real height over people who just wear normal shoes. Everything more than 4cm lifts neans you walk weird.
So are these 3cm enough to avoid LL? Of course not. I did LL and still wear 3 cm lifts and I want to do another LL. If I do it then I wont wear lifts again.
Lifts is something that all men can wear and even if only short men wear, the benefit they give is tiny. If you wear huge elevator shoes then you'll look like a clown so it doesnt matter being a taller cripple.
So no, lifts are nothing for people who are short. Only LL could fix their problem and for really short ones even one LL is not enough.

Yeah I agree with bb I think lifts are pretty retarded. They don't do much and they're bad for you i'd rather wear nothing until I get LL. Especially if you're spontaneously going to play a sport or do an activity just whatever life throws at you. Social events etc. the risks are not worth the rewards for a few cm. Plus psychologically the neurosis only increases with lifts you never really have a break thinking about height whereas without them you'll have short breaks where you're focusing on whatever rather than every single step.

Yeah i guess you're both right.

180cm is nearly 5'11. Way past 5'9.

Well i'm lost. Here we just go with cm so i just converted cm to feet.

You're not going to get good answers on this topic in a forum about cosmetic limb lengthening.
You did awesome regarding your height! You truly did amazing. Check this thread out (http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=3111.0). Almost everyone here is shorter than their own fathers.
I think the "the taller, the better" mentality is really stupid, and it seems it found itself imported in the USA. I really do personally believe on diminishing returns on height. Where I live, the people on what's considered the "tall" range of height mostly look elongated - like a stretched rubber band. The ones who I see having better athletic proportions, on average, tend to be all in the range of 175cm to 181cm (5'9 to 5'11) at the most.
