Ok I don't know what I am doing but every time I measure my sitting height it comes out anywhere from 82.2 CM to a solid 87 cm. I am not exactly sure what I am doing. I tried sitting on the floor with my legs out, then I tried sitting on the floor with my legs crossed(gave me a solid inch), then I tried sitting down on a table against the wall and it came out at 87 cm.
What is the best way. I am 170.18 cm now(yay I am not in the 5 feet 6 range at all anymore).
I am just wondering.

I do it just by sitting up on a chair and taking a tape measure

sitting height is rubbish.
you have to take the ratio from: bottom of feet to navel: in contrast to: navel to top of head.
the golden ratio applies to this figure.
sitting height is a crock of sh#t that people measure to make themselves feel good.
if you have a fat or muscly bum then your sitting height will increase.
im not mad. im just annoyed that people have not figured this out yet.

Yes, you seem to be right about that. Thanks for pointing it out.

but sitting height isn't a good example on how much one shoud lengthen, to me it's more femur:tibia ratio and arms

btw, is the belly button always place in a specific place in relation to your torso? because to me it seems some people have their navel closer to their waist while others have it higher up, despite having the same head to crotch distance..

that's a good question lower belly buttons look more aesthetic if that's the case

sorry guys it has already been studied. it is a set ratio with a mean and standard deviations above and below the mean for the navel/height ratio.
"One such historical observation that the ratio of the total height in humans to the vertical height of the navel approximates the golden mean has been verified in a systematic study by Davis (1979)."

I once found a study on 200 adults (5 years ago) showing the same thing. but this (picture) is an example on the spread of ratio.
the golden ratio is a mean ratio. 1.618 is the golden ratio.
it is a figure that represents almost all forms of life and also many different ratios in the human body. (we are just a microcosm)
if you want more information. it is based on vibratory frequency that gives rise to a mathematical outcome (golden ratio). but unfortunately that's masons mathematics and beyond the scope of this talk.

I guess what im asking is if there is some biological reason why the navel is placed exactly where it is, i mean i know the baby gets food from the mother through the umbilical cord, and i assume the navel is placed on the lower abdomen to give close access to the stomach so the food can get processed as fast as possible.
But even with that in mind, there should be some individual variation where the navel is placed in relation to the torso i think..

Wait but my Belly Button is very low to the ground at 103.2 cm. Also I am 170 cm tall. So my torso is considered long then?

My belly is 112 cm, having lengthened to 182. You tell me
