there have been some anecdotes of patients here and on a chat server where patients after surgery got vision problems after surgery. even though it probably got resolved later, it is still worrying that vision can get affected by this procedure.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/23995-fat-embolism-syndrome lists "vision problems" as one of the complications
so it looks like fat embolism can cause vision problems by either causing cerebral fat embolism. One patient on a chat server who went to Dr birktholtz said he got "roth spots" after surgery. A couple of patients who went to Dr debiparshad have also said the same thing.
What are the chances of this happening after intramedullary nailing?

It seems like a rather rare complication. Anecdotally, I've only really heard of one person getting this issue.

where have you heard this and what happened?

Pretty rare man , mostly embolism kills people not make them blind
What kind of a surgeon is DebiPrasad? never heard of him before

Oh, It's very sad to hear. Can you please share with a link to this post, I am planning to have surgery with this doctor and would like to know more about possible complications

if you know about the chat website that starts with "disc" there is a server run by cyborg for life. I cannot paste the link here because this site does not allow it.
on that server there is a diary of a guy called "dirty". he had these vision problems for weeks after surgery.
