Title: Lenghtening at Mangal Parihar
Post by: Growtomars on December 07, 2024, 11:34:21 AM
Hi I'm considering 5cm tibia external lengthening with Mangal Parihar, does anyone know the approximate cost and waiting time for Parihar for lengthening in the first half of 2025.

The below link has his info for cosmetic patients. Internals are no longer available in India, but the rest of the info should mostly be current. You can also email his clinic at info@bonedocs.in

The cost of the procedure will be around 12 Lakh, or 1200000 Indian Rupees (around 14k USD?).

As for waiting time... I am not sure. I got in touch in January and had it done in August. I would have thought you should contact them at least half a year in advance?

What about the other expenses( accommodation, food, PT, medicine...)?

Medicines are super cheap in India, except for calcium supplements which are about 8 GBP for 15 tables (you would need one tablet a day).

Sterile gauze will be about 0.60 INR per piece from a pharmacy, but you can get it much cheaper from Amazon. You would go through about 30 pieces of gauze daily.

A curry is about 200-300 INR, bread is about 100, maybe?
An ''alright'' hotel such as the one where Khilo stayed at would be around 3000 INR per day, possibly with breakfast included (depends on your negotiation skills). I personally found a good place for half the cost providing three homemade meals for an extra 700 INR a day.

Uber is cheap... 200-600 INR within central Mumbai.

PT from a physio at the hospital will be around 500-1000 INR, more if they need to come to you and you live far. The most I was charged for a session was 1500, but if you purchase more sessions they should give you a discount.

Manzo56 can you mention the name of the place where you stayed ? it would be great to look up to as it reduces a significant amount of cost and also ensures quality food. Also what procedure did you get done ? LON tibias or Internal femurs ?

I know that Parihar usually doesn't have a lot of patients lengthen tibs past 5cm, but could someone explain the difference between like Donghoon, for example, where patients lengthen way past 5cm most of the time?
