I’m going to do it in the USA for sure and will update everyone with a diary.
Only one thing left is to decide which doctor. Can someone please list all USA doctors or link me to where they all are listed.
As of now 75% sure I’m going to do it in baltimore. I’m not interested at all in doing it with Oakley. Who else in the USA does it?

Debiparshad is in Las vegas
Mahboubian is in Los Angeles
Rozbruch is in NY (if I remember right)
Assayag is in Baltimore
Paley is in Miami
I really think Paley or Assayag are the best options, any of these dr will probably do a good job but Paley ofc is the OG, and assayag seems to present the best value. Ive heard bad things about Debiparshad before so im not sure about him but ive not heard anything bad about the others aside from Mahboubian being heavy on the marketing.

The only thing off putting is the website for them stating 2 inches is recommended only. Does anyone have experience with this “? What if I insist on 7 or 8 cm
I reached out to them and no response
-
2 inches is an absolute joke, not noticeable at all and won't improve anything. Also why are you required to state the amount you are going to lengthen? Aren't you in control of lengthening, they will do the surgery and then leave lengthening to you?
-
Ok so they do the surgery then I go home and continue lengthening ? I can disregard their advice and choose my own lengthening at my own risk right?
If that’s true I will continue with that office in baltimore
-
Also the doctor in New York is very expensive they told me 120k everything included for femors

Isn't that how it always works? It is your money, your choice.

Update
registered nurse in Baltimore got back to me, rude and not willing to answer any real questions. Basically wants you to show up in person and pay $600 for an appointment before they tell you any details. Not sure if I will continue to with them
-
It’s crazy how those people are allowed to rip you off that much for a consultation that doesn’t even last an hour.
-
A while ago, I looked into US limb lengthening doctors. They are all good.
But my understanding is Dr. Assayag offers the surgery at the cheapest price.

When i hear about rude nurses and secretary i get nervous and leave the place, because i prefer to avoid conflicts. They make BIG MONEY with this business, so FIRST they must be nice and helpful from the beginning to the end... not even a second rude !
I could do it in Canada with no problem, but doctor's secretary is rude and doctor is in very hurry all the time... so i dont like that !
I chose dr Ghokan and i never regret it. He talked with me in video conference for one hour, FOR FREE. He answered to all my questions and concerns and 2 weeks later i was in surgery room. Also, EVERYBODY there were nice and helpful, including in hotel.
So, go only when doctor is helpful and all people are nice... otherwise you go in depression !
Man, in your place i would do it in South Africa. Is cheaper and better treated overall than US.
For me was too far away and too expensive... thats why i chose Turkey.

go with the dr in las vegas. limbplastix. hes the cheapest for precice max. its already available with him.

Yeah man when you hear stuff like this its an early warning sign for the bad stuff that might come down the road. I would suggest Birkholtz in South Africa or Assayag in Baltimore.

Lol weird, my first time calling the number on their site and Assayag picked up and talked to me a good while. I was pretty shocked he answered. Nurse probably was uninformed or reading the standard consultation price quote.

Any of the US-based limb lengthening surgeons will do a great job. I think others have mentioned all the big ones in the US already, but Dr. Reif at HSS is another solid surgeon to consider if you're doing it in NYC.

Are you joking? You guys are really funny smh. You know the safe limit and when someone lengthen more than 7 or 8 cm on femur, you all gonna blame the doctor for letting it go on for more than the safe limit??? And now you are saying it's in your hands and you don't need to listen to the doctor?? What the actual fck?

You need to reach out to Sam hirsh, not the registered nurse. Sam is assayags coordinator and representative. Everyone I know here is doing 8cm, for femur patients. You can message me and I’ll help you get in touch with the right people, but Assayag is definitely the best option in the USA. Paley doesn’t even do the surgery, dr robbins does everything and then paley inserts the nails.
The main thing that made me want to go with assayag is the hackerman-patz house. It’s for anyone doing surgery at sinai, they charge 600$ a month to stay here. It’s a non profit housing across the street.

Wow that's really nice! That definitely should factor into someone's decision as it's really important to be near help especially the first few months.
Best of luck with your tibs by the way you should feel great at a nice above average height when it's all done. Really smart spacing the surgeries out so many years you'll recover so much easier with much less chance of any problems. I get nervous thinking of people doing all 4 segments before one set is even fully consolidated yet...one weak point is enough to be careful with. Plus your body isn't a machine that magically fixes everything and anything all at once over night. Give it some breathing room to work!

Thanks man and honestly I was pretty happy after I did 8. I was still below average but pretty close, but people did not treat me like a kid anymore. I looked/felt like a young adult. I ended up doing tibias because insurance covered some of it since I had bowed tibias (genetic). I was going to go between HSS and Assayag but my interactions with Assayag made me go with him. He is really passionate about everything he does, and really takes his time with you. My last visit he had a full house of appointments ahead of mines and did not rush me at all and took his time to go through everything with me. Plus he’s writing research publications about LL in his free time. He published a paper a couple weeks ago. So he’s definitely not in it for the money. It’s his livelihood yes, but he is really passionate about orthopedics, and he has experience. That paired with the hackerman-patz housing being across the street from him and PT, and his pricing being lower than the other surgeons, I personally think he is the best option in the USA.

Issue is that $600/month housing isn't guaranteed at all. If there are family's that need it more than you, they get it. Even when you're there they reserve the right to kick you out of other low income family's come by needing it. Similar to Ronald McDonald housing. Now there is a decent enough Marriott nearby with a free shuttle to the hospital, it's not bad, I'm not sure about it's wheelchair accessibility options though. No kitchens in those rooms. Overall though, if you're spending $100k on surgery + other associated medical expenses, don't try to cheap out $10k on stuff to vastly increase your comfort.
Rooming at Paley, more expensive, since it's at the beach. Also not as depressing an environment. I'm likely getting it done at paley, when you work the numbers it doesn't cost too much more. But every doctor I've talked to says Assayag is a great surgeon too. Just was a coin flip and saving a tiny bit to be stuck in the middle of Baltimore....But also we'll have friends 30 minutes away from Paley as backup help.
Pick a great surgeon, don't cheap out on your comfort or rehab during the process.

Looking to do 7cm tibs with Assayag eventually. 10000% doing 8Cm femurs but my dream is to get 7 on the tibias too, you think he'd let me try for it? Starting 165.

Not true, they might switch your room if you have a large room and a family comes and there is a smaller room. They’ll never kick you out tho however lol.The housing itself is actually quite nice. It’s not very nice but it’s elegant and simple. I’m personally happy with it
