Title: How are you guys measuring wingspan?

Are you guys stretching your middle fingers as far as possible or are you only softly extending your middle fingers for the measurement? And besides that, how are you generally measuring the wingspan?

You can't stretch the middle finger out.  Its length is fixed at the knuckle.
